I've just switched to Static. Was a bit of a no brainer in the end. Whilst the rates aren't particularly exciting, they are at least semi palatable (for me at least) when considering current circumstances.

Fixing for 24 months and no exit fee gives certainty and flexibility at the same time.

Plus hopefully still some free electricity occasionally at weekends.

I am currently looking into this option. Currently on Octopus Agile, but some scary rates at times and the idea of 3 rates over the day seems more stable and slightly less scary. The main reason I am put off is the 24 month contract and the £100 exit fees, though you mention no exit fees is that because you signed up to Flextras? I have solar, but no battery so at the moment not too bad, but once the bad weather comes that won't always be the case.

Am I right in thinking I have to switch to the EDF SVR and then move to the Static?

DD has given me a referral link for me to get £75 that ends today.

My other option would be the Fuse Fixed 24 month Tariff (comes up as my best option on MSE Energy Club). I am already with Fuse for gas or staying with Octopus Agile or moving to their SVR for now.

Yes, you can only switch to Freephase once EDF is getting data from your smart meter. That might be straight away, or a few days. It does not seem to be a bad time to be "stuck" on SVT for a short time.

If you join Flextras then the exit fee is waived.

Freephase Static 24m v5 looks cheaper than v4 exception being 4pm-7pm which looks dearer.

In my region, only green rate is cheaper. Amber, red, and standing charge are all slightly more expensive.

I would go through same freephase signup link as you did previously, if exit fees get applied then contact them.

No negative wholesale prices tomorrow, but the green average (for my energy region at least) seems to be just below 0 - does that mean that green will be free?
