EDF FreePhase Dynamic Tariff

I was wondering when we might get free hours again, what with all the lovely sun recently. Although today has wind to go with it.

Wholesale DA prices negative tomorrow from 11:00 - 16:00, so scope for free electricity?

11 - 4 free for me in South West

Prices from tomorrow have increased because the formula applied has changed. In Eastern region the coefficient increases from 2.05 to 2.32 and the premium added between 16:00 to 19:00 increases from 13.16 to 18.97. That premium increase when combined with the coefficient changes tomorrows red rate from an expected 34.81 to 44.13. The coefficient changes amber from 19.71 to 22.76, green from 15.43 to 17.92.

Shocking increases on Freepahse Dynamic! 😮 😥
I was under the impression that the original version (as opposed to the current v2) had both formulae (inc. Coefficient & Premium) for URs, and standing charges, fixed for the 12 month term - is that correct?
EDIT: Remembered that I had screen-grabbed the previous formulae etc, and unfortunately, it does say that it can change every April, so it's just the SC that's fixed 😥

How are these changes communicated with customers - e.g. do you get an email? If so, how far in advance?

No email, only noticed when I checked tomorrows rates which were higher than expected. First port of call was to see if the formula had changed. The zero communication of the increase reflects poorly on EDF. That 3.51p reduction through the various green levies been removed from bills in April was short lived. As it stands the tariff doesn't hold much appeal, but it is likely that other tariffs will follow. One to watch is Octopus Agile.

This tariff is undeniably tempting, however I just can't quite bring myself to return to the torment of being an EDF customer!

I'm not sure how tempting it now is thanks to EDF's price hike…?
We'll see how things go, but I think they might just have ruined it, like Octopus did with Tracker, but EDF have done it in a much shorter period of time!
Also a disgrace, IMO, that they haven't even communicated this significant, and detrimental, change to consumers, directly.
Any hoo-ha on the Freephase Users Fcebook page?

I'd actually missed what they'd done - not being ion the tariff myself I had skimmed looking at pricing.
That said, lack of communication is pretty much EDF's USP from my experience, so while I'm sad that people are still being treated that way by them, I'm not in the slightest surprised.
