Still waiting to hear about a diesel emissions claim which is taking forever and the firm dealing with it will take a big chunk if there is any pay out.

If you have material losses you should definitely complain directly to M&S.  No need for anyone in the middle.

Could your email have been about the breach of data when they were hacked in to?  

I’ve  seen some legal firms are offering a ‘no win, no fee’ option to check if your details were ones that were leaked and if you’re due compensation because of it.
