Thanks @[Deleted User], I have joined the MFW thread and my aim is to overpay £7000 next year. I also want to look into a couple of other challenges like the NSD’s and a savings one.
I do sell a bit on Vinted but stopped at the moment as I just don’t have as much time to get to the post office, I will be starting up again in the new year though.

Took youngest into town today so he could get his secret santa bits so that’s another thing ticked off the list. Also picked him up some new school shoes. I wrote out a list of food I need to get for Christmas Day / evening. Not going bad this year when it comes to evening food. Just having left over cold meat, cheese & crackers etc. we are always till full up from Christmas dinner and will no doubt have loads of chocolates too!
The rest of my Christmas shopping can be done in a supermarket now as it’s mainly chocolate and a few vouchers. Starting to wrap will be next!

  • Urgh…went to bed last night with a sore throat, kept waking up due to not feeling very well and today I feel terrible 🫣 not great timing!
Planning on starting the Christmas wrapping tomorrow if I still don’t feel great, at least I won’t feel like I’ve wasted a whole day that way. Hoping to get out towards the end of the week and finish off last bits for presents.
On a positive note it did make today a NSD!

Thank you @beanielou and @[Deleted User]

Still don’t feel great but no worse than yesterday so that’s positive. Another day at home as I don’t feel like venturing far and obviously don’t want to risk infecting others!
Going to catch up with some ironing and then make a start organising / wrapping presents.

  • I managed to organise all presents and start wrapping 🙌🏼 I am officially done now apart from the Christmas food shop. My poor bank account will thank me! Lol.
Have paid another £100 off the mortgage this morning as that took another month of my remaining term. Down to 21yrs 6mths and £189,700 left to pay 🫣 I wonder at which figure this ‘debt’ won’t feel like such a burden.
More wrapping today and writing cards/posting cards.

  • Hubby picked up his new van yesterday and is very pleased with it, he spent the afternoon fitting pipe racks and sorting his tools ready to have the van racked out next week. I spent the afternoon wrapping more presents and cleaning the oven. Feel like I’m getting there now…..
tomorrow I need to drop paperwork to accountants and go food shopping so today’s job is to sort through and clean fridge freezer in anticipation for the ‘big’ Christmas food shop the following week.
I have half a tank of petrol in my car so I’m hoping if I can chuck another £10/20 in this week then that will get us over Christmas and into the new year. 🤞🏼

  • Wednesday already…..and a week until Christmas Eve 🎅🏼

Picked up our gammon on Monday and off out today to try and get some lamb and beef plus a few extra bits for Christmas. I’ve given up trying to track what I’m spending as it’s all over the place this time of year! In the new year I will go back to tracking my spends.

  • Christmas 2025 was a success 🙌🏼🎉
lovely day yesterday, ate far too much as usual! Had parents round in the evening, played board games, drank and ate some more. Today we went over to my Dad’s, came home early evening so I decided to start sorting the house out (looked like a bomb had hit it from yesterday!) all presents now have a ‘home’ of sorts, kitchen has been cleaned and all rubbish and recycling out. Still lots of food to get through but that’s part of the festive season! Tomorrow we are off to father in laws for the morning then not much else planned. Looking forward to a quiet afternoon where I can catch up on washing and crack my kindle out again. Also looking forward to sorting out finances for 2026 goals and get back into saving / overpaying mortgage now that the mammoth spending is done.
