So today ended up a spendy day….
hubby decided to crack on with sorting the ensuite ceiling, we’ve had a problem with mould on the ceiling above the shower. After going into the loft and thoroughly checking it he’s come to the conclusion that because there was no insulation above the shower it was causing the mould due to the ceiling staying cold. He’s now covered the area in insulation.
He also decided to fit another fan which blows air into the Ensuite (we have no windows in there) then we have the fan which draws the air out 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t really have a clue, something about circulation? but he’s a ‘tradesman’ so I’m hoping it’s right this time 🤣

new fan has been fitted, ceiling scraped and he’s now prepping to re paint with some expensive mould paint which does well in high humidity areas apparently 🤞🏼
    so total spends
    paint - £44
    fan - £96

gou$to box has arrived so need to unpack and decide on dinner this evening.

Yesterday was Top up shop day. Spent £64.79 which included cat food.
We have lots of flooding on the roads where we are this morning so I don’t think I’ll be venturing far. DS2 is going to walk to the train station this morning for uni as what should be a 10 min drive is apparently taking 45 mins! Luckily it’s stopped raining now.
Need to pay for DS3’s school trip (£75) and a holiday club session for Feb half term (£45) this week. Luckily it’s a council tax free month next month  🙌🏼 I really wanted to pay the council tax payment off the mortgage but it’s going to be quite an expensive Feb. Might leave it in my account until nearer next pay day and see how finances are looking.

So after having a think about what I had to pay out for this morning I decided to just bite the bullet and pay for DS3’s school trip in full 2x payments were left at £75 each. Just paid the full £150.
Also transferred £300 into savings (I usually do this after mortgage comes out)
I just wanted all the ‘big’ payments gone so I know how much we are working with for the rest of the month.
Just the £45 for holiday club to pay but the school haven’t added that to my online account yet. Will pay that once it is showing.

Oh and after my plum depositor yesterday I now have just under £150 saved in 2 weeks!
Luckily I turned on the rainy day feature and it’s rained everyday since 🤣
nice to know if I need the money I can transfer it back but at least it’s adding interest in the meantime.
