I filled out my notebook yesterday which I’ll use for all things money.
These figures are just mine and not including Hubbys bank/bills as we have separate accounts and I can now trust him to spend wisely!

    Monthly figures

    Money in - £3046.80
    Fixed bills - £1616.59
    Money left - £1430.21

    I then pay

    £300 into savings each month

    £350 overpayment to mortgage

£271.92 for our Weekly Gou$to boxes

    Money left - £508.29

I feel like I should be able to save/overpay a bit more from the money left over as I don’t always need to budget for clothes / petrol / days out etc as hubby generally covers the majority from his account. Same with eating out / takeaways. The money I have left over is what I use for buying bits off Amaz0n / trips to Home Barg@ins / school stuff and some of the top up shops.

I’m starting to write down every transaction in my notebook so I can see where the money is going. Hopefully this will help to throw a little extra at the savings or mortgage before the next payday.

I also ended up transferring the plum money I’d been saving back into my bank account and closed my plum account. I just found having money in so many different ‘pots’ wasn’t working for my brain… I’m definitely a more simple money person!

Fantastic achievement on the OPs and so quickly!

I wrote down all my spends for a few months and was horrified at how much I was wasting on Amazon 🙈! That was my main money leak ...

    Thank you.

🙈 Amazon is dangerous….Far too easy and convenient! I’m a sucker for their deal days too!

top up shop at L!dl done today - £67.32 I did pick up some treats from the bakery too! 😋

Went through my box of toiletries today, I’m still doing well with not buying anything new if I already have it / have spares. Finished a shower gel, body butter and lip balm this week and have found all replacements in the ‘spares’ box. Have about 7 body lotions to use up so definitely won’t need that anytime soon! Felling very MSE now 🤣

£45 spent today for DS3’s half term club next Thursday.
weather is awful again today (surprise, surprise!) and I have no plans. Having an at home day so I don’t end up spending!
DS3 has an inset day tomorrow so we are off to London to take him to the natural history museum and on the London eye, will have dinner there too before we head home on the train.
Hubby has already paid for train tickets and London eye so we should just need spends for transport around London and food/drink.
can’t believe we are just heading into the half term since Christmas…..it feels like a life time ago now!
Only a couple of weeks until March 🌼🌸🌺

have kept myself busy today, decided to change the Hoover bag which then resulted in me clearing through all the stuff in the drawers in our understairs cupboard (where Hoover bags are kept!)

Managed to get rid of 1 carrier bag of rubbish and out of date medicine. Who knew we had 600 plasters 🤣 I obviously didn’t! Bagged them all up in a ziplock and now they 🤞🏼 won’t end up everywhere. Feeling good now that’s sorted, it desperately needed doing. Then cracked on with the ironing and now I’m decluttering the kitchen 🙈 to be honest there’s not a lot to do in there as that is one room I go through quite consistently.
hoping to have a quick read on my kindle for 30 mins before DS3 comes home from school if I can finish off kitchen in time.
