Good morning,
today will be gym day 3/5 but not an NSD. Need a little top up shop and DD needs a new water bottle. She got a A1Rup a few years ago but they have a design flaw as there are unreachable areas in the lid (which is see-through, hence we noticed) that never properly dry out and then go moldy. Happened twice now (they sent us a free replacement once).
Def meeting my fruit and veg intake today and this week, big salad for lunch, grapes and probably some veg with dinner. Will make a big potato salad tonight with eggs, peppers, cucumber and capers. Need to also boil some more eggs to have with kimchi for a snack at work. Oh and use up the slightly limp red cabbage to make slaw.
Quite funny, in the 90s people were shocked when they heard my aunty ate 2 boiled eggs a day, she must be having a death wish from cholesterol poisoning, I usually eat 2 a day and it's totally normal nowadays. I guess the progress of science and expanding knowledge.finally tea total but in still in (more) debt (Oct 25 CC £1800, loan £6453, mortgage £59,924/158,000)6 -
Hello turtles, good to see all the activity. I wasnt too well yesterday was weak and tired all the time. Mr D had a disaster in the bathroom and by time I managed to clean it all up and then made dinner I was shattered, spent most of the day dozing off.I get a B12 jab every 12 weeks since my blood is very dodgy, more of that another time. But the surgery forgot my reminder and in the chaos of family summer mayhem plus eye appointments etc I didnt write it on calendar and as a result it was 2 weeks late that I remembered I hadnt had my jab. There were no available appointments for another 2 weeks and so I went 4 months between jabs. I was almost dead on my et most of the time. So I think my B12 jab had a lot of work to do packing my blood cells ,and I think the jab's efficacy has already worn off,I am so shattered. 4th Dec is date of next jab,so still 4 weeks to wait.I am like a junkie waiting for their next fix! lol..
I had blood tests a couple of weeks ago and diabetic nurse is phoning tomorrow to discuss the results. Oh dear that probably is going to be a lecture,I normally have excellent control of my sugar, but the last couple of months the comfort eating has been shocking .I think the results may be bad. Hoping sharing life with the NSTs will help me get on track.Managed not to have insulin injections so far. but had to go on metformin tablets 18 months ago after all the shocks with Mr Dusty. and dont want to escalate to daily needles. Dreading tomorrow morning....10 -
As for today,I have an appointment with my bank this afternoon. I had an old legacy account and bank says the old tech is now totally outdated,I have to set up,a new current account, with a linked savings account. Couldnt transfer money from CA to savings, had to physically go to bank. I have an emergency fund of £800 in a separate account. havent added anything to it for 2 years since Mr Ds illness..as between my health and his I couldnt get to bank.,just keep would be savings in my CA,which is bloated to £1800.I will be off to a new financial start from today
Want to thank Wee Nancy for more info about No Spend Days. I can count Saturday as NSD,Sunday I got a huge £100 grocery delivery(£25 of that was fruit and veg to increase our intake) and Monday and Tuesday I went to the ATM and withdrew £500 £300 to it to give to DD1 to sort Xmas for her self,3 daughters and my great grandkids.on that ''branch'' of our family tree.10 people in all.
I will be doing the same later with the other 3 ''branches'',my other 3 kids .Only 7 twigs on those branches,no great great grandkids yet! I usually give my childrens partners an amaz*n voucher along with wine and chocs and I of course get those gift enveopes online. All family should be sorted before end of this month.DS1 cooks Sunday dinner and delivers it to us,so thats a lot less work for me than in days of yore.DS2 now has the big family gathering at hishouse. Around 20 of us! Last year Mr Dusty wanted to come home after less than an hour, couldnt stand the hustle and bustle and lots of kids running around. I think it will be the same this year too. I miss those crazy gatherings of lots of family coming to the house regularly. All quiet on the family front now. Mr D enjoys seeing great grandkids, but only one or two at a time, not en masse!.
Right, off to give Mr D his dinner - salmon yet again - then have mine, get changed and off to the bank..9 -
Lovely slow day yesterday - spent most of relaxing and then made dinner; shepherdess pie made with green lentils, parsnips, carrots, swede, onions, herbs and stock served with broad beans and spaghetti squash. Very yummy and plenty left for today 😋
Today I have walked the dog and cleaned the house - it's full moon today so I'm going to make more lists for the new year and relax for the rest of the day.
Gratitudes are a clean house, a good dog walk and getting myself sorted for Friday 😁'Happiness is not a destination but the journey you walk every day'

NSD2 achieved.
Feeling a bit dizzy and spaced out today. It started with a bit of a headache last night. Very strange. Will take it easy for rest of today. Just some recreational Pizza dough making followed by lying on the sofa with a book.
Festive laundry folding occurred after lunch. I was tempted to build a bonfire and burn it all, but I am obviously not that patriotic. I did consider it after about the 4th basket load 🧺 though. It's the thought that counts.

NSD - 3/12 Haven’t left the house other than school run and no time to browse online.
Outside - not today again! I’m aware of the lack of fresh air will think of ways to make this a habit.
Winter Planning - Cleaned and reorganised a cupboard, nothing decluttered but now nice and tidy. Cleaned a wooden blind slat by slat with a damp dryer sheet. Any better tips for this chore gratefully received!Veg/Fruit - satsuma, banana, onion & tomato. 1 litre of water
Enjoy / Grateful for - Bit grumpy today, didn’t sleep well last night so grateful for no plans this evening. I might home dye my hair later. It doesn’t last as long as it used to. It’s such a faff, again any tips on doing this? I’m treating myself to a colour and cut at the hairdressers to see if it’s better. Not very mse though.
Make Time / Lists - Updated my Christmas lists with items bought yesterday.Bring your own / use up - Finished the body lotion so now using one up that came with perfume. Been saving it for ‘best’ but then forget to use it! So I’m just going to use daily.
Exercise - Completed 45 mins on the walking pad so will reach over 5000 steps.
Remember others - Donate / Act of kindness - Dropped off a couple of birthday cards and will go and look for something to put in the charity bag.Have a lovely bonfire night to those that enjoy fireworks 🎆Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033.
