NSD1. Yesterday was not. £30 each way for the taxi - worth every penny, he took my bags, told me to take my time as I struggled getting my legs to behave and get in the taxi, had the radio on playing oldies and didn't chat. Even so getting across the hospital block was gruelling, the receptionist pointed me to a water dispenser as I was breathing heavily. Followed directions - through the double doors, second corridor on the left and all the way to the bottom, only to find that the clinic had been relocated to area 4, back the way I came and then off to the other side.
Everyone was very kind and helpful, 2 young ladies did all the medical stuff. I was given a goodie bag with a new hose and some filters (pre-prepared as they weren't in the usual place) and the doctor went to the clinic to get me a mask. The stuff I asked for in April was sent but I didn't get it and the broken mask was obviously ancient and my hose had a small star shaped cut (it sprayed out in 3 directions when I was cleaning it). Bad news is I've put on another stone so must try harder.
Absolutely wiped out by the time I got home. I'd taken drinks but bought a sandwich at the hospital as I'd had an early lunch and was hit by a wave of hunger. I lay on the couch, ate and drank, put my CPAP machine together with my new accessories and was asleep by 6 pm. Was awake twice during the night for over an hour (ate a snack and read until I dropped off again) and continued like that until noon.
I've written a 'grooming' list (been doing bits all week but still more to do), a list of things to take/ do (check whether the road works/ town centre improvements will impact DS1 coming to get me) and a cleaning list - some for tomorrow and some for the month. If all else fails, I'll get ready and sit by the door to stop DS1 coming into the house and complaining again.
Grateful for sleep, easy healthy food (not cheap), getting some bits done, lots of water consumed, a good book (not at all what I expected).

Work yesterday but not a NSD because I ordered a new kitchen timer to replace the one that fell apart last week. Fed up of trying to manage without, and it isn't as if I can't afford a small purchase that makes life easier!Today won't be one either as I need to go food shopping. I haven't done a proper shop since we got home from our short holiday last Wednesday, and we either used up perishables before we went, or took them with us.Looking forward to a more relaxed day after 3 days of work immediately on returning from our break. Might sound normal, but I had a birthday the other day and they start with 7 these days lol.I have home stuff to sort out, including sorting out the drawer where I keep kitchen hand towels, as I bought a couple of new ones, and relocated a couple of older ones from bathrooms to replace threadbare and grotty looking kitchen ones. DD2 is getting a new puppy shortly, and I suspect she will be finding a use for these
Hoping for a dry day as I have yet more washing to do and get dry. Also have the remains of a chicken we cooked yesterday to deal with. We will get at least 2 more meals out of that, even though it wasn't very big.Grateful today for time at home without any commitments!9 -
Yesterday found fridge 2 inches deep in water. Drain hole was clogged up. Had to empty fridge out. but had special brush to unclog it. Gave whole thing total clean out, also chucked out and rearranged fridge, which I have been putting off far too long. Of course I set off my frozen right shoulder am in agony. Good job its Sunday which I am designating as decluttering and paperwork day and for planning ahead for upcoming week.
Put off making steak for dinner today,as that is a lot of work. Instead just giving Mr Dusty a chicken pie peas yorkshire pud and roasties for dinner.
Our veggies? Oh dear. Nowhere near 5 a day, probably just 2 portions of butter beans for him yesterday. Peas today.Got to admit its easier to eat fruit towards our five a day. .Mr D has had a pawpaw,2 avocadoes and several bananas the last few daysToday I bought bananas, grapes, avocadoes, pears as usual to add to the apples still in the fruit bowl..Mr D isnt keen on apples he wants pawpaw, mango, fresh pineapple and avocadoes, all the tropical fruit. And all very expensive!. But its healthy and makes him happy.Often DS1 brings him the pawpaw mango and avocadoes,so that eases the cost burden a bit. DS1 nearly died of shock the other week when the pawpaw had to be abandoned. £3 for a fruit Mr D demolishes in one sitting ? EEK fortunately the next week they were a bit smaller, but still £2,which is very expensive.
Mind you I deplore the way poor old potatoes get pushed aside and not counted as a proper veg. They are packed with fibre, vitamins protein ,the lot. Mr D only wants one big meal a day,and loves potatoes so I m happy to see him eating a big plate of his favourite food.
They would be my fave food too but I am diabetic so I have to take care.
Oops.have let time go gaily on its way. Better get the said potatoes on to cook. I parboil them abour 30 mins then brush with oil and roast.. Mr D wont have them any other way. lol.
More talk later.8 -
The scones and flapjacks I made yesterday have all disappeared. Pouf! Gone! 👻
So I have sat and made a meal plan for the whole week, and have a very short shopping list to make it happen. Will shop on Monday while I am out an about already.
Also need a piece of board to board up the fireplace hole in DS3s bedroom - he wanted the mantle shelf taken away, which meant removing the original board. Will measure that today and buy it from the big Orange DIY place on the way back from shopping on Monday.
The bed and sofa throws/blankets have been washed and dried. The heating works, but I will not turn it on until DH is home in the evening. No point heating a whole house, I bought a small heater last month that heats the living room nicely in less than 3 minutes. That will be my daytime heat source if a hot water bottle doesn't cut the mustard.
I have stuck up the solar panels for the fairy lights in the hallway and on the window sills. It is getting darker at 4pm, it is just cheerful to have glowy lights around the place. Cosy.

‘NOW’ is the theme I need in my life - after an ‘off’ October where I ignored some things needing doing.
I’ll aim for 12 NSDs. It would be great to hold on to more pennies this month after the expensive one we’ve just had - replacement car engine, shower, and toilet system, a wedding, a christening, two birthdays… and a short break! Ouch!
I definitely need to get outside, to go to my weekly aqua aerobics classes, to read rather than scroll, and to resist the temptation to hibernate, to comfort eat, to basically shut shop for Winter.
Good luck fellow turtles x

NSD - 1/12 - Went to the cinema to watch back to the future, can’t believe the film is 40 yrs old!! bought the tickets last week via O2 so got a discount so nothing spent today DS bought his own popcorn & drink.
Outside - Have been outside but not for very long which is a shame as it was a beautiful autumnal day.
Winter Planning - DS would like some new golf clubs for Christmas so took him to have a look so narrowed it down to a few options. Also cleaned & reorganised a shelf when I was putting Halloween decs away & cleaned the washing machine.Veg/Fruit - Pommegranite, satsuma and then onion in my cheese on toast probably not enough to count as a portion though!
Enjoy / Grateful for - A nice relaxing afternoon at the cinema.
Make Time / Lists - Time out of the house instead of chores. Weekly planner updated for the family for the week ahead.Bring your own / use up - Using up veg to make soup to be my lunch mom/tues/weds. Took my own drink to the cinema.
Exercise - Nothing here today, did the ironing which took up a lot of time today
Remember others - Donate / Act of kindness - New charity bag started with items from DS wardrobe .Lightbulb moment - 17/08/2017 £17,033. Current CC debt £0.00 DFD 31/7/24 🥳. Member #8 of Fiver Friday Challenge £220/£260. NST Nowvember member 🐢5 -
Did a bit of grocery shopping today so not an NSD but kept it to a minimum so only spent £8.52 😁
Had a very quiet day - finished reading a book I started yesterday and other than cooking/preparing dinner I've done little else! Tomorrow I'll be dog walking in the morning and then cleaning so there'll be plenty of exercise and time outside 😉
Dinner tonight was cannellini beans with dijon cashew cream; mixed grains (oat groats, rye berries, barley groats, short grain brown rice) with barberries, sunflower seeds and hemp seeds; rocket with black grapes, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, pomegranate and blood orange balsamic; broccoli and broccoli sprouts 😋 17 plant foods in one meal (obviously not full 'portion' sizes of all of them!)
I'm having an early night tonight after a shower as I woke up ridiculously early this morning 🤦♀️ I'm hoping for a better one today 🤞
Gratitudes- gorgeous food, time to relax, a warm home and the beautiful colours of the leaves that I can see from my front room window 😍'Happiness is not a destination but the journey you walk every day'

NSD 2/12. Cried off the Baptism after consulting with DS1 (who was collecting me and taking me there) and DS2 (his daughter's Baptism). He already had a lot of no shows as people had flu. I had caught up on my grooming tasks before I was sick. I hung out the washing and put the next load in and had a little nap which was most of the afternoon. I've had 2 apples and soup with seeded bread since I woke up. Will settle down for the night soon. Still in my short dress as I was only going to put my best one on just before being collected.
Grateful for time to rest and recover, catching up a little bit on the to do list, enjoying the sunshine whilst putting out washing and taking bin bags (midnight pixies are throwing them down and also hiding them - more than 2 at the bottom of the stairs is too much, but have found extras behind the back door after I'd taken the first 2).7 -

Please can I join @apple_muncher? Sorry I'm a bit late to Nowvember.
After a great day yesterday (a friend couldn't make a lampshade making workshop, so gave me 2 tickets), then went food shopping & spent less than normal, followed by finishing a c-word present at night.
Today is NSD#1 I've been inside all day, done some sewing & sorting through a bag of things which had been thrown in before we decorated. One less bah in the bedroom 😊
Grateful for a cosy fire, finishing off a present, my beautiful lampshade & finding a pattern for another present to get started onUse it up, wear it out
