  • I've just had 3 purchases become payable in the last couple of days. 2 x Santander, and 1 HSBC which has been showing as "confirmed" since early October.
Plum paid out very quickly, and so did Cahoot Sunny Day Saver, but I'm still waiting on the Simple Saver.
My Plum account opening was the one that didn't track. Luck of the draw I guess.

I had a raise a ticket about Plum. Eventually got the money though
I have too so fingers crossed.

Just for the record my £5000 has just appeared back in my original account I deposited in, I sent all the documents they requested last Friday and have just sat patiently since, now to figure out how to get the bonus out which is sat there in USD.

    Hoorah! (of sorts).
My £5,000 has arrived back in my NatWest a/c.
The $669.59 funds from the bonus shares are sitting in my investment account. My GBP wallet still has access restrictions in place so I can't transfer there. If I try to withdraw from my investment account I get a message to say the request could not be submitted and to contact customer support.

     Hi Clive

Great you got your £5k back, now you can relax as everything else gained is a bonus.. :)

Are you on desktop? Is there a 'GBP ac' when you scroll down below the 'Add Funds to GBP' 'Add Funds to USD' 'Create Wallet'?

Is the bonus in there in GBP? Can you 'Send Payment' to your bank?

Does your account actually show 'restricted' anywhere?

Cos' I don't see 'Restricted' anywhere - just w/ds keep getting 'rejected'.

I've done the Bank Statement thing last night,(eta 09/01) not heard owt yet.

    Good luck.

Update: After a scathing negative on TPilot, it got escalated and I got the '..2-5 days and it will be back in your originating account' mail, this morning.

Now, 17.30hrs, £5k's back and, like Clive, they've retained the bonus... put in USD and shows $395 or so.

I cant access my ac atm for absolutely accurate info, 'cos I took the opportunity in the expected lull to switch mobile service and my registered number is in transit until sometime tomorrow, fingers crossed. It's probably worth giving them 24 hours to see if there's any further action before I go back to TPilot..

Have you got any further @Clivep ?

When my £5,000 was returned, my account was blocked and I received an email from Etoro telling me I am excluded from this promotion and from all future promotional offers, any bonuses in my account will be reversed and they will also be closing my account in accordance with their guidelines.

eToro were more reasonable with me. I took a punt knowing full well it was unlikely to be successful, because I only closed my existing (but long empty) account a few days before applying for a new one. Then when I read of the difficulties some were experiencing I opted to get my money back, closed the new account and headed for the hills.

To be fair, the payment was received in my current account almost immediately, and I subsequently received this email

Thank you for your patience while we reviewed your case.

We have reviewed the account and see that it was closed upon your request. We don't reopen accounts that have been closed. Therefore, you are not entitled to a bonus reward.

To resume trading with us, open a new account here: https://www.etoro.com/accounts/sign-up

    - You will need to use a different username from '' xxxxxxxxxxx '.
    - We freed your email address from your old account so you can use it when opening a new account.

We hope to have you with us again soon.

Hopefully that leaves the way open for me to try for any similar bonus they may offer in the future.

I seem to be at the stage just before receiving said email:
I just tried to log in to light a few more fires, to find 'account blocked' after submitting the access code.

I've sent a claim for my £500 to their CS. And added a mild addition to the TP review.

Not entirely unlike the Foxtrot Oscar letters I got from LBG some years back. FS firms can be sore losers when they realise they've been played...

They did exactly the same with me. To be honest I was just glad to get my original investment back, as they'd held onto it for about 10 days and treated me like a criminal. I like a freebie, but this one was not meant to be in my case. Never experienced such dreadful customer service before.

Can a company telling you they don't want you as a customer because you went directly against their T&Cs and attempted to extract £500 from them really dreadful customer service? Or simply them protecting their position?
