another update from my UC journal
if you provide another fit note that is for more than a month, the assessment process starts and the first step is to receive the medical form by post. you will have a deadline on the form, to fill and send it to the medical team so please pay attention to this.
But according to internet, you only need 28 days of evidence to trigger.

Has your current 1 month fit note expired? If so, they will not continue with the process until you provide another.
You are correct about the 28 day period, but that only gives them a 2 or 3 day window to send out the form between day 28 and the date your current medical evidence expires, hence I imagine why they may be asking for further medical evidence.

1 month sick note, 10th of this month, so expires 10th next month

Which is 28 days (as February is only 28 days). I can see why they may wait for you to submit further medical evidence.

can a gp give me a sick note now, even tho my other still has time on it. She said she was happy to give me what i needed, i wish i hadn't asked for just 1 month

That's up to the individual GP. I know my GP wouldn't generally issue a new fit note until the current one had expired, and 3 months was the longest they would give for anything MH related. For severe cases of MH they would want to see patients more frequently to ensure there was no risk to life, so very unlikely to give a fit note for longer than 1 month in such cases.

GP said she'd prefer monthly, then every 2 month or so ur right they don't like giving long months for mental but she's happy to keep giving them until i don't need
and said its fine to get extension on current one,
I wonder if i should do that, or just wait for my other to get nearer to end hmm
I'm guessing getting an extension would trigger them to send the assessment form at least?

When I was needing fit notes, they said they couldn't date them in advance. They could backdate them a bit but not post-date.

Update: got the wca50 after 2nd sick note, came quick and sent it back in a few days of filling it out.
I attended commitments interview in person almost month ago, now I have work coach interview but struggled to attend and missed it. They keep giving me video call as alternative (did same with commitments interview) but only have pay2go mobile and no webcam or valid photo ID. I don't get it why can't I just do phone interview especially as they saw me once in person recently.
