Well it's only to confirm who you say you are. What have you got?
Birth Certificate (this is the most important non-photo ID).
National Insurance Letter (or a P45/P60).
Recent Bank Statement (printed or original).
Utility Bill (gas, electric, or water—dated within the last 3 months).
Council Tax Bill.
NHS Medical Card or a letter from your GP.
Bank Card account they've previously paid into
They will also ask various questions on past history and details they have on you.
Leave a note stating you can apply for voter ID your Doctors certificate expires end date and list of ID you have.

But how do they know it was you on the phone and not someone else answering the questions?
Similarly, how would they know it was you on a video link unless they saw some photo Id to prove it?
They do not know what yoiu look like.

Post a message in your Journal: Let them know right away. Say: "I do not have any valid photo ID (no passport or driving licence). I have [list what you have, e.g., birth certificate and bank statements]. Please can we proceed with a biographical phone interview instead?"
They will ask you personal questions only you should know prior to evidence.

but isn't that to do with the ID interview. I've done that, it's complete, I requested an in house visit but they ended up doing it over the phone instead. It says completed in the journal.
They just asked for photo ID for the a video call which is to do with the "
First Commitments appointment"
At this appointment you will agree your claimant commitment with your work coach. This is your record of the responsibilities that you accept in return for receiving Universal Credit.

They want photo ID to make sure they're speaking to you, the claimant, on the video call. That's why you need to let them know you don't have any photo ID for that, so that they are aware they'll need to confirm your identity on the video call in a different way (e.g. by asking you biographical ID questions) instead.

I decided to just try go in person as I have someone to come for support and to take me there
It feels just as bad to do it by video (which I can't do apparently if I have no photo ID)
Wish me luck and thanks for advice

Don't forget to let them know in advance on your journal if you'd like to take them up on their offer of a private (quiet) room, if that may make it easier for you as they will need to book/reserve a room in advance. No need to tell them you are bringing someone with you as that should never be an issue (unless they suspect you are being coerced).

Thanks it all went well tho I was told it could take up to 6 months for a Work Capability Assessment
(really?)
and it would be good to get a 6 month sick note rather than just 1 from GP

Depends on your GP some do a month to month, three and rare six months depending on condition. Guidance means keeping the patient safety first.

I asked if they're sending an assessment form, I asked if I need 6 months note to even get 1
they said
yes, sadly is take more than 6 month... once you provide another fit note the form will be sent to you by post
😥
so I can't even get he form with just my 1 month? why didn't they even tell me that. I did make it clear that's what I wanted.
