Hubby and I not taking any chances we are going to fund both current accounts for both of us.

No more carrots as I have found if I pay my Barclaycard and water account both are counted as purchases.

If you have the funds available why not, spending for the 30 purchases is the easy part.

I opened the Santander everyday current account in early November for the £100 Amazon offer and am part way through the required transactions as just using as part of my everyday shopping at the moment.
I now see there is a £200 cashback switching offer with Santander, does anyone know if I can also take part in that as well as I have one of my Halifax current accounts looking for a new home and only 2 possibles for cashback, as already used all the others, are Santander or Barclays.
    Thanks

Google the T&Cs, but AFAIK if you didn't hold a Santander account in January 2025 and have NEVER received a Santander Sitch payment before you should be eligible.

I had a Santander savings account at that time, but not a current account.  I did have the original 123 account many, many years ago, but I don't think I received a switch payment and can't find anything from that long ago to confirm one way or the other.  Maybe I should try and if it doesn't work switch again elsewhere.

They are two separate offers so once you qualify for the switch offer you can go for that as well as the gift card offer.

Just wondered if anyone could answer this without me starting a whole new thread...

I opened a Santander card back when the offer was a £30 Amazon gift card which apparently arrives in February. I had the Santander account details arrived, promptly paid in £5 and left it there to make sure I get the Amazon voucher!

Next week I see the email mentioning £100 and thought I might as well try...I read the email and I'm sure it mentioned something about needing to do more than just opening the account- not switching or anything like that but just paying something in or using it a certain amount of times per month. Does anyone know?

I'm not even sure if I'll get both- the email said to try anyway as there's nothing really to lose, I'm not building a credit rating and the £100 if I do get it would really help in the new year! It would be a shame to miss out on it if I can jump through the hoops, but I don't know what those hoops are and neither did the call assistant when I tried calling them up either.

    Thanks if anyone can help.

Can I respectfully suggest you go back 10 pages in this thread and read through as this has already been answered, and the T&Cs are readily accessible on line as well.

I'm surprised an MSE'er with nearly 13000 posts is asking for answers rather than look it up, but well done for not just starting a new thread.

The £30 gift cards have already been sent and received. I have no idea why you "paid in £5 and left it there to make sure I get the Amazon voucher!" as this wasn't a requirement.

You register using the MSE or MoneySupermarket or Top Cashback (there are several others) link with VoucherSent and in the same session open a new Santander current account. You have to make 30 payments using the debit card that comes with that account within 60 days of opening the account.

    Yes, you can get both.

I would suggest you read the first page of this thread (if you don't want to read through the whole lot) which tells you all you need to know.

I’ve received the email. As I opened two current accounts after the first Amazon voucher link ‘failed’ I’ve been spending on the second account where the link did work correctly with acknowledgement email from vouchersafe to get the 30 debit card payments made. The email relates to the first account that TCB say they have a record of me clicking the link that didn’t get recorded but they are making sure the merchant knows I did. Dilemma, the first opened account becomes the default for the voucher and the second no longer counts so now I need to spend 30 times dc on both accounts to be sure or lose out or double bubble?! Looks like I’ll be spending even more time checking out small items at the self service of the local supermarket.
I'm puzzled why you (and subsequent posters) are assuming "the first opened account becomes the default for the voucher and the second no longer counts". Why would it no longer count? I am in exactly the same position as you so I am genuinely interested in hearing why other posters believe that the second account would be disqualified in this situation.

Personally, starting all over again to make 30 debit card transactions with the first card would be a total pain in the proverbial and I would find it easier to complain to Santander in the unlikely event that the second account is somehow disqualified. I cannot see why they would have any grounds for disqualifying the second account or rejecting a complaint if they did.
