Morning all,
I have been awol for much of the week, as I am still trying to shift the lurgy. It has now got to the really annoying, time to leave the house stage.
Not a lot of flying has happened here. Some friends came round for dinner last night - their choice, as they were fully warned of the lurgy status. I spent the day pottering about prepping - nothing arduous, thanks to the sc. DW was loaded before I went to bed, then I WUDUPA the rest of the bits this morning. By product of having visitors was that I vacuumed downstairs and s&s the bathroom and downstairs toilet before they came.
This morning I have run the wm, although drying the clothes will be a challenge. I might have peaked for the day now. DH is still fussing about with the same lurgy, obviously far noisier and attention seeking than me, as he has the dreaded man version.
I think the rest of the day may involve knitting and books, although I suffer from guilt syndrome at sitting down in the day - that’s thanks to my mum’s legacy. DH happily suffers from no such guilt. I may take a leaf out of Narc0’s book and start looking through all my torn out recipes - sorting these is on my list as a winter job but it is going to take some time…5 -
Ahhhh. The recipe collection. If Narco and Fayolle are up for it I'll happily join in a Sort My Recipe Collection Challenge. I've got more than I could possibly ever use saved on two email accounts, two different computers, a large fat full file and on zillions of scraps of paper. *hangs head in shame*As any progress is good progress I'm going to commit to indexing what I've already collected by the end of the month, even if I don't get it all tidied up. I'm motivated to do it because I absolutely know I found a bagette recipe recently, made it, and now I can't find it again. I want that particular recipe.Indexing would mean I can find them all and then start The Big Cull.Better is good enough.4

Good afternoon flyladies xx
Towels and tea towels have been swished, pegged out, almost dry but rain is forecast so I've brought them in to finish off on the airer and radiator. Yesterday's washing is still draped on the airer and radiators too. At least everything is washed. It'll dry eventually.
Pots have been WULTD. At 2pm I will DUPA and wash the plastics for recycling.
NND has asked if I'll put their chickens to bed this evening. Happy to oblige.
Gifts have been ordered from the big River company for all three birthdays at the beginning of November. They should arrive tomorrow. Need to get my thinking hat on for Christmas gifts and December/ January birthdays next. One step at a time.
One thing I do not have is a recipe collection. A planner graveyard? Yes. A hobby graveyard? Yes. But since I don't cook I don't have a stash of recipes - favourite or otherwise. However, I have invited DS and DDil over for lunch on Christmas Day so maybe I should start.
Hope everyone is having a good day.

Afternoon all. One load of washing done this morning and all dried on the radiators before the heating went off at 8.30 am. By the time DH got up it was raining so we didn't get out for a walk although I went out for a newspaper early this morning (they don't open until 7am on Sunday) and I'm due round DD2's to keep her dog company for a couple of hours and feed him. If it's not raining too hard I'll take him out, otherwise I'll be forced to sit and cuddle him
.Hope everyone's OK.5 -
Vacuumed the top layer and spent more time prodding the guts of the V@x than I did driving the thing backwards and forwards. I was so !!!!!! off with the machine I decided it will have to go. It's in very good nick but will need a clean and then I can donate it.An Eb@y item I ordered a couple of weeks ago should have arrived by yesterday so I logged on to the Bay of E to contact the seller and lo and behold there was a flash sale on reconditioned Dy$ons so I've treated myself with money saved on the food budget this month to one. We need to be able to stay on top of the floors because the cat litter goes everywhere if we don't.Spent time reconciling bank statements and that's it for the day.Better is good enough.5
