Morning all
Getting a haircut later, a bit overdue as the last one was in September 2024 😱. Will stop off at the plant man on the way home for some trailing pansies and those multi-coloured berry thingamys for the last 2 hanging baskets.
Rest of today...

Morning all
Feel a bit better. Maybe taking loperamide last week wasn't a good idea as my body didn't flush the bug out properly - complete theory, of course, but it makes sense to me.
Washing on line. Yesterday it didn't dry but the bedding was at the perfect level of dampness for ironing. The towels have gone back out though. Anyway the ironing got done.
Have emptied bottom deck of DW and tilted stuff on top deck to finish drying. Jelly and blancmange setting in fridge fr an old-school dessert. I'm expecting rebellion from the in-house dietitian. Decorator claimed to be coming today but no sign as yet. He was here all weekend painting fences and shed. If the grass were cut the garden would probably look quite nice
Still not found missin car key or missing glasses.
Taking SD to vets later with Trigger for his booster.
Am cleaning the grimmest room in the house (if you ignore DR which is a WIP decorating wise and needs flooring) the office. Fingers crossed for finding lost items!
Thanks for all well wishes btw *mwah* and must remember secret santa and card swap. Incidentally we are kicking the family secret santa into touch this year. I suggested it as so many people ask for the cash its basically a swap. Though I always preferred the gifts I have enough trouble thinking of things I want now.

Hello all. Hope you're all ok.
Wordle in five, connections with one life lost (got purple line first), strands with no hints.
Woke up to find Poppet had been sick on the bed. Don't know how I didn't hear her. Anyway, it's bed changing day today anyway. As the weather is murky, washing is draped on airers. I've freshened the sofa throws, done dailies, watered indoor plants, walked Poppet, done some admin, got some parcels ready to post and s&sd downstairs loo and bathroom.I should be at a meeting right now but I'm waiting for a delivery. Will give it another ten minutes then go out anyway.Spend less now, work less later.7 -
Afternoon ladies (and gents)
Yesterday I had my GS so I only managed to get the DW and 2 loads of washing done in between playing building blocks and dinosaurs. DD2 came round and we all visited my parents as usual.
So far today I've done the DW and cleaned the bathroom including finally scrubbing the floor on my hands and kneesIt did kill my back though.
I've now stopped for a coffee. After I hope to hoover the landing and stairs but the cat is currently asleep on the landing. I made him a blanket so he'd be more comfy sleeping there but he refuses to use it SMH. I also hope you get into my bedroom but tbh that'll probably just be sorting today as I still have stuff to get rid of.

More *GWS* vibes heading your way, along with *find* vibes for the specs and car key Valli. We've got a neighbour who buys the most imaginative presents for everyone and I ran out of ideas for her birthday this year so gave her a garden centre voucher. I thought I was being very dull, but she bought herself the biggest pot I've ever seen in her garden and has put a huge bamboo in it. She said she'd never have bought the pot without the voucher so I'm glad I got that one right. In reality most of us have most of the stuff we need by the time we're 60 so it's not surprising your family has agreed to abandon the Secret Santa. Belovéd and I have scaled back hugely because it's sort of daft to declutter and then restock!Thank you for dusting our cabin Fayolle. You did such a good job the ferry sailed 15 minutes early! Very odd to think you were whizzing off it while we were queuing to load on to it. Almost, but not quite, ships that pass in the night.*Healing vibes* for Poppet.Haven't had a shot at Strands etc as I had to go and collect Wren first thing. Apparently she slipped her harness this morning again with the dog walker, but very fortunately made her way back to the dog walker's house instead of trying to find her way home which would have been a complete disaster. I know she loves the dogwalker but Wren is getting increasingly panicky on walks and I'm not sure how to cure her of that. It's noise that triggers her; deaf dogs are so much easier to manage so I don't really know how to help her because most of my dogs have been, or go, deaf shortly after I adopt them.Have spent the rest of the morning setting aside Christmas presents we bought in France for various friends, and with hindsight I wish I'd bought more because I found something, at last, that would be perfect for pretty much anyone. I've also got two bottles of Scotch sitting on my desk along with large green pot and saucer wondering where I'm going to stash it all. I've already lost one present I bought a few weeks ago!Washing up and new kitchen utensils whizzed through the sink (I love French supermarkets), plants watered on the sundeck and front steps and sink plughole drain thingies bunged in the kitchen sinks plugholes. They work perfectly, which is an improvement on the blocked sink of a couple of weeks ago.Now trying to clear a backlog of admin, and we've still got to stash the wine downstairs.Better is good enough.7

Afternoon all. More washing done and smaller stuff on radiators, bigger stuff outside for a while but that will need to go on the radiators to finish off tonight. The earlier stuff is dry and put away. Frustrating when it doesn't look a bad day out but the washing just sulks! No real cleaning done except the normal which includes wiping all the kitchen sides down and cleaning the sink and draining board which I do every morning after I wash up the breakfast things. Stops it getting too bad.We had a walk round the block but DH wasn't feeling up to an actual outing.Glad you're a bit better Valli, hope everyone else is OK x5

Greetings!
I'm new here, so I have a couple of questions.
#1 ~ Is there somewhere to get to know more about the posters on this thread? Ages, location, family, etc. I'm mostly just curious where everyone is from. I hope this question doesn't sound like someone on here "phishing".
#2 ~ Today's "mission" is to tackle the bed in the guest room and get it company ready. When company leaves I wash the sheets and remake the bed. It stays that way until the next guests come. That could be quite some time. She asks "how long has it been since the sheets have been washed?" I don't worry about that. Does it matter as long as they were put on clean? They are under the blanket and quilt, so I always assumed they would stay fresh. I could wash them and put them in the closet till I'm expecting guests, but I don't really see the necessity. What are your thoughts. Thank you!6
