Morning all. Pretty dull and cool again but the washing is at least waving at me a bit today. Bet it will still need to finish off on the radiators tonight though.Shopping delivered and sorted out and put away. Nothing exciting though, no treats for us!Picking up DG4 from school this afternoon and bringing her back here for a couple of hours and giving her tea. Mainly seems to consist of watching awful American stuff on YouTube (I do check with her parents what she's allowed to see). Lots of entitled young people, very money oriented. I keep telling her it's not real, they're just doing it to get viewers. She rolls her eyesHope everyone's OK x7

Just squeezing in before midday 😉
Not sure what I have planned today apart from unpacking the new microwave, cleaning area where it is to go which will probably mean I'll end up gutting the kitchen surfaces etc...lol
The wash load has finished which was good as we've got a power cut now..thank god's for mobile internet..lol
I've also got to keep an eye on pup when I'm not with him as he gets very naughty alone..bless him
Oh just remembered I have made the bed, changed the cat tray and hoovered the living room. Also decluttered two biscuits and a cuppa ☕
Think I'll have another cuppa before tackling the kitchen.Mortgage Free as of 20.9.17Declutter challenge 2023, 2024 🏅 🏅⭐️⭐️

Morning All,
I should have been on my mental health walk today but it's that fine, drizzly rain that gets you soaked here so I've given it a miss. I also received a message to tell me my friend's mum has passed away. We were best friends as kids so the lady was like my second mum so it was quite upsetting. Hopefully I'll be able to go to the funeral.
Yesterday afternoon I got distracted by a delivery of Christmas present bits and pieces so not much got done in the end.
This morning I've unloaded the DW and put that away. I've hoovered the landing, stairs and hall which has killed my back so I've stopped to have a coffee and take my meds.
I plan to wipe down the doors, banister and skirting boards afterwards.
I won't be touching the spare room as it's still full of stuff out of the attic which needs sorting and I need DD2's help with that. Strange how as a teen/young adult she didn't help at all and used the house like a hotel and me as a chauffeur, part of the reason for her moving out but now she's really the only one that helps me with anything. Anyway back to my coffee

Sold old Vallimobile…and discovered while allowing purchaser to test drive, that it had automatic headlight AND cruise control! Anyway it’s gone to it’s new home for more than I would have got with we buy any car so happy days.
The in house dietitian are the jelly and blancmange but was not impressed.I absolutely loved that! Sorry the In House Dietitian didn't approve of your lovingly hand-crafted dessert. I hope you enjoyed it yourself.Stuck at my desk still trying to catch up with paperwork. I left it for months and months so it's self-inflicted but I've got mounds of files on my desk needing attention. Operation Change All Passwords has had an inch of progress as I've finally tracked down where and how to change my password and username for one website. Some organisations make it very hard and one or two won't actually let you at all. The worst that I'm dealing with is Microsoft. Twice I've asked them for a Validation Code and nothing's arrived. Why do tech companies make everything so hard?Welcome DahliaDol. I make no secret of the fact that I live in the southwest (and absolutely love it here) and I'm retired.Making French bread to go with supper as the Traditional bagette we bought is already gone to Tooth-Cracking stage. I'll toast it when I bake mine later so we've got warm fresh bread to go with the goodies we brought back, and croutons for the fish soup later in the week.I also need to dehair the pick up roller on the v@x as it's clogged with hair again, a job I loathe.Better is good enough.7 -
OOh some GUAG has come to fruition and, at the vol job, sorting, filing and flinging has happened. The desk is much tidier. Sadly missing stuff remains unlocated.

So making cheese scones, quite happy following instructions, 'roll out, use 2inch cutter.............' but how thick do you roll out to?? mine are nice and thick and what I knew as a child as the 'grand dad bit' it even thicker
its the bit that is of no use what so ever, but gets cooked anyway.
Next I make brownies, quite happy following instructions, ' line a 2cms deep tin..' ok but what size l x d?? I've used my roasting tray, the mixture seemed to fill it, next bit ' cook for 25 mins, and check, then check every 5 mins after that..............' ok easy enough but at what temp??? mine is at 200, just checked it is still wobbly. Then it says allow to cool for 24 hours, cut into square s and store in an air tight tin for 2 weeks.......................no chance of any of it making an air tight tin let alone for 2 weeks. OH and NND (male) already have their eyes on cheese scones, apple crumble, and brownies, I doubt any of it will make it past Saturday.Kitchen cleanedCats sortedHooveredBreast Cancer Now 100 miles October 2022 100 / 100miles

Mr N was the main flyer today, doing a load of washing, hanging it out although I brought it in; he also went to Mr L as he was in town.
I went to aqua aerobics, 'work' (finished another presentation - how come I cut it down as the 1st 'showing' was too long ......the shortened version took even longer!! But a bit less scary although there were more people). Half an hour before I was due to start the presentation, I saw to my horror the phone call ID from Mum's care home. However she is ok, relatively, but has a chest infection and the lurgy that seems to be doing the rounds. At least the presentation took my mind off it for a while.
Had my flu jab on the way home from 'work'.
Rang DB.
Organised a Zoom tfor tomorrow with manager to plan the online version of my presentation - should be a challenge bearing in mind the 1st 2 overshot the time allocated; this is scheduled to last half an hour less.....
Did a bit of drum practice. Can't get the mambo right.
Went to zumba.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.8 -
Morning all
Am off to voluntary gardening session shortly, will need to wrap up warm as it's a bit chilly out there. We've had 4000 bulbs donated so I expect to warm up quick enough!
Later will be change bedding, dust & vacuum everywhere & general tidy up.
