Morning all,
The lurgy cold still lingers here. DD and I are just annoyed with it, DH now has terrible, much-worse-than-we-have-it, man flu. Obviously. My tongue so far has remained zipped, but as it is only just gone 9am, the day is yet young. The frustrating thing is that I would really like to get to the allotment but the thought of bending over and having a runny nose is too much faff.
Thanks to holding myself accountable on here, yesterday I did dust the bedroom and spare room, cleaned the ensuite and downstairs toilet, and vacuumed upstairs and the stairs. I also got all the tomato plants out of the gh. The green waste bin is now stuffed full, and it was only emptied this week. Plenty more to go.
The washing mountain has nearly been defeated. The last load is just finishing in the wm, ironing pile is up to date, just need to figure out how to dry today’s load as it is totally uninspiring outside.6 -

Have taken advantage of DH being in town and tried to find my cardigan that I've lost somewhere. In doing this I cleared some more stuff out of the cupboard under the stairs, cleared a hotspot by the sofa and pup proofed it ~ nothing there now so he can't run off with things that he shouldn't have.
Cleaned the bath while I was waiting for my 2 mins shampoo to work earlier, then wiped the tiles and the sink too. Changed over hand towels and renewed air freshener at the same time 😄
Am hoping that Specsavers can repair my glasses for me otherwise it's a replacement pair. Gave them to DH to take with him while he has his eye check so hopefully he asked them very nicely..
Off out later to my sister's for a cuppa and to get my hair cut by our friend who cuts hair. Really only need a trim but can't believe how much it's grown in 4 months..😲

Done some ironing. Chopped down my peony stems as they were dying and filled the green bin which has now been emptied. Went to volunteer for an hour or so, ostensibly to receive a Fareshare delivery but sorted the bookshelves (we have a 'help yourself' library), separating the adults/childrens books and throwing away some donated books which are as old as me and about as appealing as a dried turd.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Afternoon all. I dusted, polished and vacuumed downstairs and up the stairs this morning and washed the kitchen floor. Did a washload which I pegged out. It rained so I got it in again....Then we met DDs 1 & 2 for a walk and coffee.About an hour ago I cut the grass, it turned into a nice afternoon in the end. Supposed to rain next week I think so I thought I'd better get on with it.Hope everyone's OK x6

Very sorry to hear your news, Kaz. Come back to us as soon as you can xx
I have been trying to emulate Kaz today and have walked 13,000 steps, just under 5 miles, along the canals and through the shopping centres and market in the big city, then the usual walk with Rosie. It's been another good day with friends. I've also decluttered a few ££ on petrol for my car and paint for my bedroom. Tomorrow I'm off again, back to our old stomping ground of Peterborough to have lunch with another friend, travelling by train so that I can knit/read/watch youTube/doze for 2 hours each way.
Flying has been minimal again. DH has hoovered the LR floor and done the washing up this evening - not quite up to Mr Narc0's exacting standards, though!
Our long DR table is half-covered with jars of jam and marmalade. I'm taking a pot of marmalade to my friend, though. I've now used up all my jam jars with lids, so am hoping for some more to turn up at church on Sunday.
xxx
