Same for me.
I bank HSBC and First Direct
TSB being done now, Coop last month.
Nationwide/Lloyds/Natwest/Barclays have become too strict with no dates, just you cant have EVER had a switch cashback payment, which is a shame. My last nationwide switch payment was in 2020!1 -
Santander? Also I was able to get switching offers from NatWest, RBS and Ulster despite only being meant to get one from the whole NatWest Group. Virgin could potentially come up with one though they seem to be much less frequent than they used to be.IAMIAM said:Same for me.

Right but that doesn't list what I said - a compilation of qualifying start dates. All well and good trailing through the archives, hoping they are listed but it's no use if they are not and by combining them, you could get an idea which banks might allow it againeskbanker said:

A forum thread that lists from when you can get the bonus
e.g.
Nationwide switch offer 1/10/25
Not available if you had a switch since 1/10/22
then next time
Nationwide switch offer 1/10/26
Not available if you had a switch since 1/10/23
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Why don't you start one, then? You're the one asking for it, so you're the obvious person to create it.Nasqueron said:

I hadn't really noticed the change but, to be fair, I can't really complain about it. It would be perfectly reasonable for all the switching offers to be "once per lifetime".danny13579 said:
This isn't happening so much, if at all, anymore. Most offers in the last couple of years have had static dates that haven't been updated. For example, Lloyds is pretty much set in stone at April 2020. Others don't have dates at all, you can get one bonus and that's it forever (e.g. Santander, First Direct).boingy said:Many of the switching offers only exclude you for a few years so you'll be able switch to some of them again in (typically) 3 years. Just make sure you read the small print.2 -
I kinda started it but the problem is that work blocks archive so I can't see the terms to check!EarthBoy said:

I listened to Martin's "Magnificent Seven" Podcast listing the banks that will give you £175 for switching and thought it's about time I gave it a go. I decided to switch to First Direct as it has the best customer service rating. On their website they advise that you need two items for proof of identity e.g. a passport, or photographic driving licence, (which I have) plus a utility bill or bank statement, for security. You then need to have these items certified by a JP, an MP, a Doctor, a Dentist or a Solicitor. As I don't know anyone in these professions, GPs will not do it as it is a waste of their time, and my Dentist has a prominent warning in his waiting room stating he does not do it either. It seems my only option is to go to a solicitor who will probably want a fee. So I am not going to switch now as it is so much hassle!0

I don’t remember all that hassle when I opened an account with them
So I just checked and cannot find anything like what you are suggesting2 -
Are you certain? Usually your identity and address is verified electronically or worst case you upload a photo of your passport during the application. It’s only in rare circumstances you’d need things certified.Romulus2 said:I listened to Martin's "Magnificent Seven" Podcast listing the banks that will give you £175 for switching and thought it's about time I gave it a go.I decided to switch to First Direct as it has the best customer service rating. On their website they advise that you need two items for proof of identity e.g. a passport, or photographic driving licence, (which I have) plus a utility bill or bank statement, for security. Try applying for the account and see what you’re actually asked to do. First Direct hasn’t ever asked me to do any of that.1 -
I only ever needed to get a document certified when applying for my ID in the first place. I've done probably ten to fifteen bank switches and they all accepted a photo of my ID and didn't ask for it to be certified.0
