Thanks. I didn't think it was possible to get a switch bonues from a different bank from the same group, e.g. Lloyds and Haliax.
While the terms and conditions say you can't, in reality you can. Many of us on here have received bonuses from NatWest, RBS and Ulster, for example.

Most of his posts (all utter drivel) have been consigned to the virtual dustbin and he seems to have gone back into hibernation.

Many of the switching offers only exclude you for a few years so you'll be able switch to some of them again in (typically) 3 years. Just make sure you read the small print.

And, yeah, I'm one of those who got switching bonuses from all three of NatWest, RBS and Ulster despite their stated criteria.

Seems dependent on the bank. The last few for iirc Nationwide it was from July 2022, wasn't being pushed along e.g. to Sept 2022 the next one. Lloyds last offer was excluding anyone who had a switch from April 2020! TSB last one was 1st October 2022

Be interesting to see if someone could do a post tracking all these and update it after the next switch offer from that bank to see if it changes

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Have you got a zopa biscuit account? Much less than the other switches but if you find a referral link on Reddit etc it's a tenner for opening it, and then 2% interest, 7.1% regular saver and 30 quid a year on direct debits which you can get quickly by setting up one payment of £1500 to a moneybox account.

For me it's one for keeping rather than just switch bonus. They don't do switches though.
Refer-a-friend offers in general can be quite profitable. Wirex, Wealthify, Vanquis, Snoop, Tembo, Zopa, T212 etc quite often have decent RAF offers.

Worth noting though that requesting/exchanging referral links is prohibited on this forum, this extends to private messages so you'd have to look elsewhere to be referred.

This isn't happening so much, if at all, anymore. Most offers in the last couple of years have had static dates that haven't been updated. For example, Lloyds is pretty much set in stone at April 2020. Others don't have dates at all, you can get one bonus and that's it forever (e.g. Santander, First Direct).

Just a pity I'm too young to've got them more than once, with the exception of Co-op's RAF offer, and even then they were rather reluctant to pay out a second time.
  • For Santander, I got a switch bonus for switching into my existing account, could be worth looking out for next time they do a switch offer.

Almost certain to have a qualifier that says people applying "must never have had a Santander switch bonus before".
