Trouble enrolling in Win10 Extended Support Updates (ESU)

Hi folks, I'm back again - groan and still as 'untechie' as ever, ha ha
I've been trying to enrol in the Extended Security Updates as my computer is supposedly not Win11 compatible and I am too mean to buy a new one if I don't need it.
The aim is to give myself time to look into trying Linux Mint or ChromeOS ? instead, or at least staving off the inevitable for another year, to have more buying choices.
I have read LOADS of threads about this on various forums including here. I finally found the Enrol now option, when logging into my Admin account on the computer - great.
Unfortunately I just get a black 'Enrol in Extended Security Updates' pop-up screen, when clicking on it - and nothing happens.
I've tried the following but as usual haven't a clue what I am doing, or should be doing.
Tried troubleshooting windows updates (both via standard acc. and Admin account) - it fixed an error but still the same when I re-tried.
Updated my Firefox browser.
Ran defender and malware scans.
Checked Window Updates to see if the relevant KB one was installed.
Further details about my computer below:

The first time I went into Settings on the Admin account, it came up with the following:(I got Win10 upgrade via a techie member on here - which must be why it has this?)Windows Insider Programme
the following details were in red:
To manage the Windows Insider programme settings for your device
and allow it to stay in the Windows Insider programme, you'll need to
turn on optional diagnostic data.
in blue:
Go to Diagnostics & Feedback settings to turn on optional diagnostic
data.
in black:
If you don't turn on optional diagnostic data, your device will stop
getting preview builds when the next major release of Windows
launches to the public. To stop receiving preview builds on any device,
you'll need to (underlined blue) leave the Windows Insider programme.
I didn't do anything, and haven't seen this again when going into Settings via the Admin account.

If only there was a 5 page thread about this on here already .....

Thanks @ J_B - I HAVE actually posted on that thread before I found the enrol button but thought it would be better to create a new thread rather than hijack that one, with a slightly different issue.I will add a note to that thread about this query if you think it will help?0
