That doesn't seem to be a sensible way of thinking. Treating eBay as a monolith. There are very many reputable sellers who back their product up with a warranty. But we are talking about £50 here. If it doesn't work, send it back. If it works, it will likely continue to work. I use refurbished stuff as a matter of principle. It works and it does what I need. The fact that it is relatively cheap, is a bonus. Hence the fourteen year old laptop. It was perhaps ten years old when I bought it.ih8stress said:It would cost me more than £50 as I'd probably end up getting one from Dell again as I wouldn't trust any from Ebay, Amazon etc. and wouldn't want to try and build my own (unless it was made from lego, ha ha).I might try Ubuntu instead of Mint as it looked easier for me (youtube vid) but that will be next year now.I updated to the Chrome browser this week as the latest Firefox update was horrid - I have now reverted back to an earlier Firefox version, didn't like Chrome much and have always avoided it in the past because of the privacy issues.0 -

Though I do remember tweaking it to something I liked a few years ago when they changed something. You might be able to tweak it? Check on youtube. If you're concerned about privacy you could check out Brave browser.0
