If you want to create a USB with Windows 10 ISO, and various linuxes then I would recommend Ventoy for this https://www.ventoy.net/en/index.html 
Depending on the size of the drive of course , I have a 32GB one with many on it.

Hello @debitcardmayhem my friend 🙋 have looked at your link but it looks too complicated for me.
I am trying to prepare an old flashdrive at the moment so I can put Rufus on it.
I have put the Win 10 ISO on a DVD disk for now as didn't have a usb and wanted to get it in case Microsoft remove the  creation tool tomorrow.
As I understand it, I can use Rufus and the I SO disk if I need to reinstall Win10.
Incidentally I am going to try ChromeOS Flex instead of Linux, after seeing you recommend it on a different thread.
I just need to get a second usb to put it on first.

Trouble is that the Enrol Now pop-up page just goes black.

I AM doing it from my Admin account (local), and have tried clicking on the 'sign in' underneath Local but it doesn't do anything.

My system is up-to-date but I am missing some older updates, which I have been trying to find today on the microsoft catalogue. Trouble is I don't know WHICH version I need as it lists a few options for the KB5063709 update as there are 12 of them!

I do have some issues when in the Admin account (usually use a standard account), so don't know if it is my computer or the Enrol now button that is the issue.

I have done sfc scans, dism scans etc.

Do you use the Edge Browser? Trying signing into a Microsoft account with that. Then attempt to enrol again.
Settings > Accounts > Your Info Are you signed into anything there?

Confused as to what is happening above...why does the OP need Rufus? Why is this whole thing getting sidetracked with nonsense about Linux?

How many different threads are running here? I guess I'll step away until the OP decides what they are doing.

OP you don't need Rufus, you can simply Mount the ISO and run Setup from there.

Yes, I'd concur....many ISOs on one bootable USB, what's not to like??

Ey up dcm, long time no see bud 4 and a bit year countdown to retirement so spending more time around Pensions board than here recently, but stil hanging around like a bad smell

Hi, I did say in my first post that I was looking at trying either Linux Mint or ChromeOS instead in the near future.

I had saved the Win10 ISO on dvd in case I needed to re-install Win10 later on.  I thought that I needed Rufus for this, so really appreciate your suggestion about mounting the ISO as I was totally unaware of this option or what it meant - I really AM a technophobe, despite years of trying to make head or tail of it, ha ha.

In the meantime, I have FINALLY been able to enrol for the extended support updates - which will give me time to try ChromeOS, Linux Mint etc. over this next year.

In the end I had to re-set the computer via settings/recovery etc.

Many thanks to everyone for their help in this matter.

Hopefully I will leave you all in peace now for a while

You decided to not splash out on £50 on a more modern PC? Not that I'm against the idea, as my laptop is from 2011 and running without any major(or even minor) issues.

If those were the only options, then I would go for Mint or even another flavour, rather than ChromeOS Flex....if you care about your privacy at all.

It would cost me more than £50 as I'd probably end up getting one from Dell again as I wouldn't trust any from Ebay, Amazon etc. and wouldn't want to try and build my own (unless it was made from lego, ha ha).

I might try Ubuntu instead of Mint as it looked easier for me (youtube vid) but that will be next year now.

I updated to the Chrome browser this week as the latest Firefox update was horrid - I have now reverted back to an earlier Firefox version, didn't like Chrome much and have always avoided it in the past because of the privacy issues.
