Trouble enrolling in Win10 Extended Support Updates (ESU)

When I enrolled I wasn't asked to sign in, maybe because I was already signed in to my Outlook email account.1

A few issues...your CPU is quite old and not even able to upgrade unofficially to Windows 11.
Consider splashing out £50 on a more modern PC.
You can try an eligibility check by opening a Command Prompt, choosing to Run As Administrator and then copying and pasting this Command in: reg.exe query "HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows\ConsumerESU" then to hit the Enter key.
Report back with the result.
Chances are that you'll need to do an in-place upgrade to solve the issue.
I'm guessing similar to here: https://www.reddit.com/r/WindowsHelp/comments/1noy7ri/esu_enrol_continues_to_spin_then_closes

Maybe one of those mini pc's that's about the size of your hand.Northern_Wanderer said:

@FrugaiMacDugal thanks for the YouTube info - I couldn't see it and got side tracked with other ones, ha ha. I WAS able to go into my Admin (local) account, then log in to an old outlook account before clicking on the enrol button but I still got a black screen and couldn't proceed.0

@BFBW I have done that - haven't got the full result in front of me as not on my computer but the first one ended 0v2 and the second one ended 0v1
I know from tenforum that it might be possible to check and change these numbers through certain settings but can't find the relevant thread at the moment (very slow trying to type on a fire tablet and search for stuff).
I've found my receipt for the computer, bought in 2010, so it's not done bad, ha ha

I am thinking of trying Chrome OS Flex instead of Linux as I think it will be easier for me but I need to get a usb flashdrive first.
If I want to try and go back to Windows 10 extended afterwards will it still be possible to reinstall it, until October 2026?

Thanks @Northern_Wanderer. I have had to download the Iso instead and put it on a DVD disk as I don't have a spare usb flashdrive at the moment.
It says that I can put Rufus on a flash Drive for the iso, so hopefully Rufus won't change after tomorrow too.
I DO have hirens boot on an old usb flashdrive - do you know if I can use this instead of rufus?
It is probably a few years since I put it on there so I need to check it
Thanks 🙂0
