Hi
Didn’t get chance to post my weighin on Wednesday plus +4lbs please Brambling.Old Style Weight Loss Challenge 2025
1st quarter - 17.5lbs 🥇
2nd quarter - 6lbs 🥈3rd quarter - 16.5lbs 🥉
4th quarter -4 -
Brain picking.
As I've taken to swimming for my joints and to have a few extra calories for just in case, I have now developed a chlorine rash, you can get shower gel for chlorine, but I baulked at about £15 a bottle, just wondering if anyone has any suggestions? I do shower and moisturise after each swim but can't get rid of the smell.
Also a none related weight question, but know I always get a sensible answer. Has anyone switched from books to a kindle, it will save on luggage space, but I do like the feel of a book. I did get a strange look from someone on holiday, who suggested one, until she realised I was joking, about the corner of a book hurting more if makes contact with the hubbys head. 😁
Just thinking it might help with the arthritis in my hands and wrists, but trying not to give into it yet.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538

Just popped in to say when I got a kindle a few years ago I took a bit of getting used to it Iim another one that likes a feel of a book but I love it now wouldn’t be without it and when I go away I load it up with books and you can get plenty of free ones and there’s just this little kindle to take and you always have something to read4

@jennystarpepper I have Kindle on my tablet and I couldn't be without it now. I get my money's worth from the subscription just from magazines. Although if if you want to read outside, I'd get a proper Kindle as the screen is designed for that. Holiday books - I try and get a load from the charity shops. Cheap, and I can leave them behind. A lot of hotels have a book swop shelf too.5

Can I suggest giving up all Ultra Processed Food? I think about what goes in the small supermarket trolley and reject anything which is not real food, or an ingredient to make a nourishing meal. No extruded breakfast cereal, no ready meals, no snack bars, crisps, or fizzy pop, nothing labelled low fat or with spurious health claims on the packaging. It cuts the grocery bill by a lot. DH has mastered the bread maker and makes a fresh, small loaf as we need it, so no more supermarket sliced stuff with added preservatives.
My weight and waistline went back to the normal range in a few months because I stopped feeling hungry all of the time.
I have breakfast a bit later and the evening meal a bit earlier which may have helped too.
I am working on better sleep habits, and have a long way to go on getting fitter.6 -

Jenny I also use kindle on my tablet but I do read loads of 'proper' books too. The advantage of a kindle other than the convenience especially if travelling is no one can see the size of my library unlike my floor to ceiling bookshelf in the spare bedroom
there is something about reading a physical book especially before bed but I wouldn't part with my kindle books. I Get my moneys worth using kindle unlimited.
Thank you for the weigh in everyone, good luck for the weekLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin6 -
Thanks @Pixie_Cosmo and @Brambling,
Think I'm going to buy one end of the month, in the sales. I can go through quite a few books from the charity shop in 4 weeks, especially when Mr Pepper has his sunbed nap, I do donate them to the local residents or leave for the apartment bookshelf, it's for poolside reading mainly, saves the book weight and I can take more processed crap on holiday to eat.
And I can't believe it's November already.MFW - 01.10.21 £63761 01.10.22 £50962 01.10.23 £39979 01.10.24 £27815. 01.01.25. £17538
