TG - great news on the mortgage.
Care with your OH's situation that if he does serve notice that the guy doesn't just take pay in lieu of notice etc as this is better for the employee regarding not paying tax (typically 3 months pay would equate then to 4motnhs take home). Hope all works out for your OH and the team who are sharing the pain.0 -
Morning,
dertermined 1 I agree that would have been the easy option but Betfair has changed the rules so if you have deposited more than withdrawn in Neteller you have to take it out that way before you can ask for a banktransfer. In the end I transferred as much back from Beifair to Neteller and ended up with getting £2000 out for a £5 fee which is not too bad.
StuartGMC I am not sure how the rules works but if they give him 7 weeks notice and ask him to work that and then pay him 7 weeks pay for redundancy hopefully he cannot ask not to work all 14 weeks. Will get DH to ask their solicitor. They have not even told him of the redundancy option yet so we have time. Just wish for them some nice orders would come in.
I am going to Bristol today to tell one of my contacts some bad news. My company has decided to change the way we work with them and they are not going to like it. I never met this woman as Bristol has only recently been given to me so a great start to the relationship. Not looking forward to it.
My Danish bank called me yesterday but I could not call back as I was on my mobile. I think they want the password for the account. Hopefully I can sort that out today. Can't wait to clear the offset loan.
Also the mortgage is as of today £8000 how nice does that sound.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Morning up really early as DH wants to go and watch the golf at Wentworth. Not very Money Saving but will be a nice day out.
Danish money has not come through yet but I had paid £2000 off the offset loan so it is now £2000 and of course the mortgage is down to £8000. That means I have another £3000 to pay off possibly £35000 at a stretch. Nice figures.
Had a nice chat with my manager yesterday they are paying for me to do some private tutoring with a lecture from Nottingham University so that will be quite good. Means I am not at threat from redundancy.
My old neighbors popped in yesterday while house hunting. They are still looking to buy in this area possibly a semi at £310k which looked nice. About 1/2 between here and my gym which is less than 1 mile.
Well just seen my mum on Skype want to call her to wish them a good cruise. Take care all.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Morning TG,
I haven't posted on your thread for a while but just wanted to congratulate you on going in the right direction with the mortgage even if things are tough with OHs work.

Morning all,
Had a lovely day out at the Golf yesterday. Really nice to walk about in the sun and watch the player do their stuff. Hard work walking around from 9am to 5pm but loved it. Quite expensive day out but as DH says tickets were £30 each but next week they are free so thats £15 a go for a whole day out. Well it is one way of looking at it. Will take a pinic next week as burgers were £6, a beer £4 and bacon roll £4. All nice though.
Going to play golf myself today really looking forward to it. Not playing until 11.40am so having a bit of a chill and getting a few things done around the house. Hope you are all enjoying the long weekend.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Morning hope you call had a nice weekend. I did lovely sunshine actually got a bit burned as I missed a few places with the suntan lotion.
Spend so much money this weekend actually the whole of last week so really need to rein myself in. Also our friend is back and he is going to fit our new front door this week. That is £1000 for him. Might not be able to get the mortgage down to £6500 when the Danish money gets here but it is better than if I had to add it to the offset loan.
Shopping wise I have been quite bad but also a bit good. Got some tee-shirts at 30% off in Esprit so that was 4 for £30 which is cheap. But then I found a jacket reduced from £120 to £50 which I had to have.
Yesterday I went golf shoe shopping at a local outlet place as I was told they had 1/2 price Ecco shoes. They had loads over 4 pairs in my size but I only bought 1 pair. They had white ones with beige or orange trim that fitted me really well. Bargain as the beige ones were down to £65 from £95 but the orange ones were only £30. So saved £35 just by having orange trim instead of the possibly nicer beige ones.
Really need to do something about that diet. Not shifting any weight and in Esprit I could not fit into their size 16 trousers. Scary.
Lots of work this week so better get on with it.
PS I have updated the alcohol intake for last week not good reading is it?Save £12k in 25 No 49

So bored with work today trying to do these graphs in Excell and it looks a mess. Not saying what I want them to say.
Off to the gym at 5pm so counting down to that.

Money from my mum in Denmark has just hit my Nationwide Account. Need to transfer it to Barlcays but nice to have £3500 to pay off the mortgage. Paid off another £1000 on the loan out of normal account. Under 10k total debt now. Soooo nice.
Also got 2 mystery shops lined up Waitrose and HBOS to ask for a remortgage. That should be fun might say I need to borrow more than £9k or they will offer me a credit card.Save £12k in 25 No 49
