Just had to tell you I have made use of my first SNR bet today. All on my own only asking once on the Newbies board so I am definitely getting better.

I had my free £10 bet on Ladbrokes which is a SNR bet that means if you win you only get your winnings not the bet returned. So the odds needs to be higher in order to get a good return which according to the experts should be about 80%. Now looking at what is on tonight I could not find anything that would give me that return but then I read Tim's last email and he talks about betting on the score. I have until now just betted on the outcome of the game.

Well I found Chelsea to win 1-0 at 7 and layed at Betfair at 7.4 that will be be a return of £7.76 regardless of what way the game goes. I know it is not quite £8 but got bored with looking at the scores.

Have also signed up for Bgbet to get their £100 free bet. You need to make several bets to get 5 free £25 bets. They need to be over odds of 2 so a bit tricky to find that. Now that I have got the scores to bet on I might have a little look and put something on for tonight.

Also already got £10 for my Betfair Challenge not sure which one it is for wil wait for their next email it should say on that. Up to update my signature.

Gosh it is windy here today, so glad we had the fence fixed. Went out with friends last night for a nice Chinese really nice to eat in a restaurant and actually be with people I like and not on your own or with business people. A bit tired this morning but luckily I am working from home.

Got another mystery shopping job yesterday, doing Lloyds tomorrow and Asda on Monday so that is another £20 to add to the fund.

When I do the Lloyds thing I am going to Nationwide to pay all our change in. That is our holiday money as they don't charge commision on foreign exchange so will be nice for when we go to Portugal. Only problem is I have started using the Nationwide account as my Match Betting Account so might try to open a new joint one so DH can have a card too.

It is amazing how things add up when we came back from our short break to Dublin in Mid November the holiday fund was empty but now it has over £500 in it all from offers found on here or cashback. Cool.

One the MB front there is a bit more news.......

Got to MSN with Tim last night so just checked I was doing OK with my Ladbrokes bet. He thinks I could have done better so decided to leave my £15 free bet until the weekend when all the football is on. He told me about a few sites you can compare odds on but they are a bit confusing but once I get the hang of them they should save some time.

I did actually manage to predict the correct score in the Chelsea match so the money went into Ladbrokes and out of Betfair of course. I have cashed out the Ladbrokes account so I just have my free bet left. Need to make sure I can top up Betfair if needs be.

Had a look this morning for bets over 2 for the Bgbet Challenge I signed up for yesterday. You need to make a £25 bet to get a free £25 bet but could not wait until Saturday. I have now placed a bet on Tunisia to win and layed with Betfair. It means who ever wins I "loose" £1.25 but I will get a free £25 bet. Now this bet is Stake Non Returned so that means if I find a good match I should be £18 back. Not bad for a few min work.

It is all so facinating really anyone reading this should give it a go it is good fun.

  • It sounds like it's all going really well for you TG, after my blip (lost £3.00 of my Betfair challenge money) last night I'll take stock and see what I should do next. The Gamb board has loads of great info, need to spend more time seeing what offer/ bookie I should do next. Will have another look later and check it's OK with Tim.

It's really windy here as well: a slate fell off the roof and is sticking menacingly out of the lawn like something from "the omen". Must do some work now...

Getting really into this now, Tunisia didn't win (it was a draw) so the money went into my Betfair account where it was really needed. Need to have enough float in there to lay bets on games Saturday. My free bet has not turned up yet but it was only last night.

Managed to get DH into MB. We set him up with Coral and I did NINE, CHIP and NODEAL. He has so far made £35.60 but I did loose him a bit because I did one game at £2.50 forgot to change it down to 50p. Still not a bad result. We did have to change the address slightly and use his initial because he did have a Gala account but hopefully it will be OK as there is no way he will call Customer Services.

Anyway signed him up for a Betfair acc via Quidco thinking that would be easy but his card was refused. Not sure why but I cannot load another card or change the details for 24 hours so he may just have to use my account for the laybets.

On the Betfair Challenge Front I got the email showing ticks in all the boxes so assume I have completed it. Only had £10 so far so will wait and see or check with customer services.

Not doing any more betting until Saturday - then it will be BgBet (free bet) and DH Coral £25 free bet.

Right just a quick update eventhough not all the bets have been settled yet.

    Good:
    • Made 4 bets today, should be able to turn my £15 Ladbroke bet into £13 real money.
    • Did one mystery shop yesterday for £10 and have one on Monday for £11.
    • DH made £35 on Coral just on the NINE, CHIP and NODEAL code
    • I made £25 on Eurobet on DEAL code
    • People on the MB thread has helped me so much today
    Bad
    • DH is no longer MB as Coral closed his account as they wanted ID. He did call them but they wanted it posted and he was not prepared to mess about with it. He was also unable to deposit into his betfair acount.
    • Made a mess twice on placing my bets, one not reading the spreadsheet right and one the bookie limited my bet from £25 to £2.50 so had to find another bookie with 10 min to go.
Not got the final figures yet as Liverpool are playing still so will update properly later

Probably a little early in your MB career to be worrying about this but he is allowed an account with coral (he can use his Gala one and just ring up asking for a free bet - worked for me) as they are partner friendly. You want to be careful about signing him up with another account/putting in details that aren't 100% correct.

If you do and match the bets off, Coral would be within their rights to cancel your winnings (meaning you would be down at Betfair) as you have broke their tandc's.

Dont want to worry you, just want to make sure you dont make any costly mistakes. Also, further down the line, getting a partner into MB can be very profitible as long as its done correctly (concentrate on your own for the time being). Many bookies allow accounts from the same IP/address (betfair, coral, centrebet boyles...) just make sure you get confirmation from them

Love the diary btw and you seem to be getting really into it (trust me, it can be addictive lol)

A.Username you are right it is addictive but in a good way not like gambling.

Looking at a few bets this morning and got one at 2.20/2.24 so quite close unfortunately Bgbet would only let me put £4.15 on so now I am even further behind with my BGbet basket. Reading the MB thread appartently you just place a big bet in the end to get it. Also if they start to limit you it is better to leave them alone for a few weeks. I have 90 days to complete the challenge.

Eurobet still hasn't come back to me if I qualify for the free £20 bet. I have read the T&C and you need to wager your deposit before it is released so I have £50 to go now.

So now I don't really have any bookies to place bets with so might stop now for the weekend. I am not quite ready to sign up with a new bookie and I still haven't heard from William Hill.

The profits for MB as of last night was £113 in 10 days.

On the bad news front yesterday I should have said the bathroom quote came in at £17.2K that is for an ensuite, cloakroom and bathroom but still really really expensive. DH is not impressed not sure what my next move is.

Just chilling out today will be away a lot next week so need it.

  • Hi I have read your diary over the last couple of days and found it really interesting, well done.

On the bathroom front have you looked into doing and paying for one at a time rather than the lot so it doesn't seem so massive.

Also have you looked on line at buying the suite you want and then getting a plumber and a tiler seperately? This should work out much cheaper and this is what I am looking into doing.

    Good luck
