Thanks for the kind words again the house still feels empty but I have some news:

    1. Got my redemption statement and paid £995.78 and I shall now be mortgage free when the payment clears.

    2. Saw the IFA who was really good and is looking into payment cover instead of lifeinsurance so is getting us some qoutes. He was also really helpful with the pension advice so we are going to get all the info and he will work out what we should have to life on at retirement. At the moment if I wanted to retire at 60 I would have about £4000 a year, rubbish isn't it.

    3. Went to see a breeder of Maine Coones and put a deposit down for a kitten that will be ready in April/May. £650 but should be well worth it. Cannot wait.

I think that is enough for now will update properly later.

Mortgage payment should have cleared by now but it does not show online until the next working day so I will wait until tomorrow to say I am officially mortgage free.

Has been such a strange week loosing Eric, paying the mortgage off and ordering a new kitten. I guess a lot of people think it is soon and we are just trying to replace him but I miss having a cat around and we will have time to get over him before the new one comes. The breeder gave us a feeding plan for them and they need such posh food. Raw mince and cooked meets as well as dry stuff. The kitten pouches cost £8 per 12 double of what the standard stuff cost. We shall see - its not for long they are kittens and I don't want to upset his tummy if that is what he is used to. Anyway still got 18 weeks or so to wait.

Back to more mortgage related stuff as I mention the IFA was really good. He is going to write off to DH pensions to find out how much he has got as we really don't know. He suggested I change my fund from the ethical one it is in but I could do it online. Just registered and they are sending me a pin code. Fantastic if you can look it all up online. On the website there is also a calculator you can put your net worth into. Might have to have a play with that. I am certain I shall want to increase my pension payments as I would want to retire at 60. Will wait for the statement and see what the IFA comes back with.

We have had to change our joint account payments as DH still looks close to going into the red. He does pay for most of the supermarkets shopping so it is only fair. We will now pay £600 instead of £750 and save £120 a month into a specific holiday fund. That should do for now but will review it when we know how much the payment cover will be that the IFA recommended.

Off to Oxford today should be a nice 2 hour drive and I quite look forward to getting out and about. Been stuck in the office too much lately.

Weight now 86.7 so going in the right direction even if I am drinking rose again. Had a bit of a hangover this morning and only had 2 glasses. Tells me I should cut down which I will.

Vandanfc they are lovely fantastic cats and fantastic photos. Cannot wait to get mine even if it is expensive and I have to wait for it. They do say good things comes to those who wait so hopefully it will be a fab kitten.
