Mystery Shop at the Slug and Lettuce was fab yesterday the food and service was really nice and we got loads for £40 incl pudding. I had 2 sips of wine so I don't think that counts as breaking my AF January.
Mystery Shop today was not so good really busy pub and the Sunday Lunch was sold out. Standard of food not so good and service not really there as they only had 2 people on duty and a full pub.
Went to Makro to stock up £80 and Sainsbury £55 incl 6 bottles of Wine (not for me ofcourse). Expensive but we did get masses in bulk so now have enough for ages.
Just chilling out this afternoon completing my MS questionaire.Save £12k in 25 No 49

A bit sad this morning just called the vet and left a message for our vet. Eric is not getting any better and the steroids are not working. He is walking really stiftly on his back legs and has started to trip over. He is not happy and I am now certain it is time for him to go. They will ring me back but DH is not happy about it being today we go to the vets as I am away tonight. He even said before he left don't you dare have him put down without me there as if I would. Just have to wait and see now what the vet says.
Got tons to do today before a 5pm meeting actually it is more like a drink in a caf! but all counts. Then an overnight stay in Bristol in a swanky studio apartment and a meeting tomorrow.
Still not had a drink tried some non alcoholic wine yesterday gosh it is horrid really not worth even trying it. Hopefully I can stay off tonight as we could end up going out properly maybe I should say I am on antibiotics just in case I get tempted.
In other more MSE related news our mortgage is now £900 - 3 figures how cool is that cannot believe it. Will call Barclay's Wednesday and get a settlement figure so I can pay it off.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Morning sorry I have not updated since Monday but we are taking Eric to the vet tonight to have him put down. It is horrible to see him like this and we really should have done it Monday but I could not go because of work and DH did not want to go alone. Yesterday they had not times left so today at 17.20 it is. I am dreading it but it is the right thing to do and we both agree.
He is not able to use this back legs properly just falls over all the time and he has pretty much stopped eating. We kept him in last night but he kept bashing the cat flap to go out. I was up several times in the night but in the end he used his litter tray so feel less guilty now. This morning it is raining and he again wants to go out. I cannot let him out as he can barely move and what if he is behind a car or something.
Right now he is lying on the heated floor in the wet room and I hope he will stay there for a while. Breaks my heart to see him in such a state and feel guilty for not insisting DH took him on his own on Monday.
Was going to ring up to get the final balance for the mortgage maybe that will cheer me up.
Take care all.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Can't just read and run. Sending hugs and will be thinking of you and OH at 5.20 as it is a decision and act that I will have to make and undertake for my old girl before too long. xx0

Thanks puddle it is a hard decision and in the end Eric made it for us. I went downstairs to make a cup of tea just after 11am and there is was in the corner fitting.
I phoned the vets they said come straight away so DH raced home and we went there together. By this time he could hard breathe and really it was time to go. They took him away and put him to sleep.
To any pet owner having to make this decision just remember it is about the pets quality of life and not you as an owner. In hindsight we should have let him go on Monday even if I could not be there. Still he is in peace now and that is the best for him.
DH thinks I should have drink tonight to toast to his life and all the happiness he brought us. I might just break my drinks embargo for that.

Hi Tallgirl
He sure was a handsome fellow and I can understand how you'll miss him. I'm glad that he spared you the endless wait until this evening - perhaps the only way he could repay your love and care for him? I think your husband is right and you should toast his life and affection tonight.

Thanks Setmefree2 and puddle reading your kind words with tears in my eyes. He surely will be missed but as you say he is gone now and we have to remember him as he was.Save £12k in 25 No 49
