Hi TG
I like the sound of £40 for an Italian mealhopfully it will be nicer than the pizza.
Regarding the quotes, personally I'd look at the mid range quotes and pick the person I liked the best and hopefully who's been recommended. But in the end who you choose is up to you!
I have a quote being done Saturday for carpets! :jHave a feeling this thread is digressing into house !!!!!! again......

Evening had to buy a drink at the hotel to get free WIFI what a shame. Weather has been awfull so much rain and flooding on the way saw loads of accidents but at least I got down here.
First meeting tomorrow is at 7.30am over breakfast, then 9.30am and the last one from 2pm to 4pm then 4 hours drive. Well at least it is not everyday I have to do this.
SmlSave feel free to discuss interior design etc I shall be getting new carpets too but might give the lounge dinning room a miss for now and just do the bedrooms. Would be less disruption. I agree to go for the midrange one and the one you like. Meeting the actual person is best and then you can see if you like them. We have been so lucky with the Mike the bathroom guy and our builder just had a crap architech. Might have to work a bit on DH as he is not keen on anyone doing work while we are away which I think would be the best way forward.
Quite looking forward to the weekend feels such a long way away.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Plan to move to Denmark for FIRE by Autumn 2025 “May your decisions reflect your hopes not your fears”

Morning had a good time in Plymouth but it was a long day yesterday.
Chap came around to quote for electrical work at 5.30pm last night (he saw DH as I was still on my way home) and he sent us his quote at 6.50pm. £210 and he will change a triple switch for us for free. The other person quoted £235 without the change of the switch. He can do it tomorrow so I have said yes. He seems really nice and the 3rd person who was due to come Saturday did not sound like he really wanted the job. Will be so nice to have light by the wardrobe's so hard to see anything in there.
Now just waiting for the last plasterer to come back to me hopefully he will call today.
Here is a picture of the bedroom ceiling as it is now as you can see the light blocked off by the wardrobes. 6 spots is going to look so much nice and no artex.Save £12k in 25 No 49

Final plasterer came back with £1950 plus VAT so he is way too expensive. Cannot face getting it done before Christmas so will leave it now until the new year. Electrician has just sent me his invoice for the work he is doing today £180 that is a bargin really. Hopefully he will fit a light for us in the lounge as we really need it. I will pay for it of course.
Went out and got the switch we needed firstly got the wrong one from Screwfitx so had to go to B&Q got the right one just in time to get out before the football fans decent on Pompey.
Had a look in a golf shop for a present for mothers partner but nothing really grabbed me think it shall be a case of getting everything on the internet. Need to make some Danish æbleskiver translated that is appleslices but actually it is more like round pancakes you eat with jam and icing sugar. If they work out I can do them tomorrow for the inlaws which would be nice. This is how they should look:Save £12k in 25 No 49

It only took him 3 hours to do the lot so quite quick.
Visit to Frankie and Bennies was a bit mixed. Loud music and being ignored by the bar staff for 15min the worst part of it. Some of the food was OK but I would not go there again. My garlic dough balls took 15 min to arrive and underneath there was 7 badly burned ones. Not good.
Got the inlaws coming in a bit so just been out to find some Gløgg Danish Mulled wine which you can get in Lidl but is actually German. Also gone some nice marcipan sweets.
Still looking for putter for DH on Ebay the one yesterday went for £69 could have kicked myself for not getting the one for £31 last week.Save £12k in 25 No 49
