Chase Boosted Saver

Just moved mine to Zopa 4.75% which includes the boost for a year - looked at Cahoot, but having no app is a downside for meMr_blibby said:
just diarised a similar move on our 2 accounts - I like the app and the speed of transfers etc, but not at 2.5% interest ...poseidon1 said:Chase has reminded me my boosted offer terminates on 24 October when the interest rate will then collapse to 2.5%.
Just before then I will move a six figure sum elsewhere and see if that, together with the actions of other like minded Chase saver's triggers a new boost offer.
much prefer to use App based accounts these days. I do have Cahoot as well but it’s so clunky to use and login with passwords codes sent before you can get to your accounts.I liked Chase App while the rates were good my boost ends 31st so sadly I’ll be leaving minimal funds in it to move across to Zopa.
would you happen to know if there’s a minimum balance I’d need to remain in Chase to keep the account open in case of future offers ?0 -
No, you can keep zero in it.DodgerPot said:

It's a good idea to leave the Chase current account open as they won't let you rejoin in the future if you close it. I dip in and out of Chase Savers whenever the rate is competitive, but maintain the current account for the 1% cashback on supermarket purchases.DodgerPot said:I liked Chase App while the rates were good my boost ends 31st so sadly I’ll be leaving minimal funds in it to move across to Zopa.

In general, I always keep £1 in any savings account I want to keep open if a minimum balance isn't stated, just in case a £0 balance for any length of time eventually gets questioned or triggers a closure. As this is a current account though, you'd probably get away with £0 (as previously suggested).1 -
Thanks for both responses
I’ve never actually used the Chase current Spend account at all purely operated the Spend & Invest account with the boosted rate for savings. That’s interesting that if closed Chase don’t allow rejoining.I’ll keep a small balance and dip in and out and top up occasionally just to keep the accounts operational
Thanks0 -
There's no need to keep the Saver account open so you might as well close that one if you're going to empty it. If they did launch a new bonus rate offer on their Saver account in future, you'd need to open a new one anyway.DodgerPot said:Thanks for both responses

so I can close the savings ( spend & Invest ) account and just keep minimal in the current account ? To keep the chance of future bonus rates0 -
This is what I have done this week.refluxer said:

Rate was due to collapse next week, so I just upgraded my Cahoot Simple Saver to a 5% Sunny Day Saver and threw the entire balance in there (£100s, not £ks) and closed the Chase Savings account as it was no longer required. All done within minutes tbh.0 -
Yes - exactly.DodgerPot said:

My Chase Saver paid out today, the day the boost ended. This is very odd. Anyone else received interest today?
