If you shop instore at Sainsburys (or even if you have easy access to one) the Sky SIM gives you a weekly Sainsburys treat usually valued from £1.50 to £5, examples are Taste the Difference cookies £2, Taste the Difference Pizza £5. You must use the Sky digital app on a mobile phone to use this offer though as it is redeemed using a moving barcode displayed in a web browser.dnpark38 said:
Just looked it is £5 which seems it could be reasonable.Phones4Chris said:
Well that 1GB £1p.m deal might have been there a month ago but it's not there now - unless it's for existing Sky customers only!RL11 said:
What caught my eye was it said unused data rolls over.
Also it's worth finding an existing customer as there is usually a bonus or reward available for inviting a new customer.
Update: the 1GB deal is back but at £2 per month:

I'm still waiting to hear from Tesco re the imminent removal of my "lite" tariff. I think I've mentioned before I have a cheap Nokia 2G phone. I know the 3G signal is about to be switched off, but from the reading I've done 2G will be available until 2033.
I'm probably going to move to a different provider, and I just want something where I can top up once every blue moon and make calls as and when, aware that to maintain the intergrity of the service I will need to make a call at least once every six months, no great imposition.
Is this the one to go for please?

Once you're on it, do you think it likely that Sky will increase the price as their T&C state they reserve the right to do?
"I just want something where I can top up once every blue moon and make calls as and when"
You'll still have this with Essentials, it'll just cost quite a bit more under the standard rates. You don't have to buy a bundle.
The O2 Classic PAYG you linked to is not available to switch to.

Were you able to keep your old number though?
I've heard that O2 are increasingly refusing to do so on the basis that the tariff is no longer available, or if they do then moving you off of that tariff.0 -
This isn’t quite correct, whilst the 2G signal won’t be turned off for about eight years. 2G is being dedicated to emergency calls and machine to machine communication.whattochoose said:I'm still waiting to hear from Tesco re the imminent removal of my "lite" tariff. https://www.o2.co.uk/help/products-and-services/pay-as-you-go/classic-pay-as-yoIn the case of O2 (who have the highest percentage of 2G only customers 1%) they are gradually migrating customers. From last July business customers were migrated, from October incoming and out coming roaming onto 2G was removed. The new Tesco’s tariff isn’t compatible with 2G, so at some point relatively soon you’ll need to change to a 4G voice compatible phone.1 -
Not what I was told

Please forgive my ignorance but what do you mean by "machine to machine Communication"?PHK said:

Yes went into an o2 shop and bought a top up I gave them the PAC code and it transferred the next day with no problem. My husband rarely makes any calls but tried it and was charged 3pMindEcho said:Were you able to keep your old number though?
