If you are going to go for that Tablet, then the answer is yes. But not so much for the increased storage, but the increased RAM.

The 'S' series of tablets is Samsung's Flagship, the most recent being the S11 which launched this month.

A S9 which you might expect to retail around the £500-£700 range, for £229 new is deep in 'too good to be true' territory.

Based on what you've said, I'd definitely suggest the Tab A9 - it's their current entry level offering and can be picked up for £99 in Argos:

    https://www.argos.co.uk/product/3411043

If you'd prefer a bigger screen than 8inch, the A9 Plus is available for £122.99 (absolute bargain price):

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FBX6FDL6
Both lower end tablets. Personally, for the budget, I would not consider anything less than 8GB of RAM and preferably with a 4G/5G modem.
Good plan, go find a Samsung w/ that spec & 3 years Samsung warranty for £250.

4G/5G internals will add £50-100 to the price. Not needed since most people will have a phone to hotspot off (if the thing ever leaves the house) and a Data plan will be another £100/yr.

Why should I do that? I'm not looking to buy a Samsung tablet. I certainly would not buy a low end tablet with just 4GB of RAM and a relatively poor screen unless it was super cheap. But that's obviously just me...

Missed the extra RAM, yes that would tilt it in favour of the 128GB.

Hmm, maybe because you're posting in a thread for someone asking about buying a Samsung tablet?

You seem to be very good at telling people what you wouldn't buy...

But credit where credit is due, that was a good spot and as you say, is worth it for the increased RAM.
    Know what you don't

many thanks all, I've decided on the 128gb, mainly because we've just bought a campervan and it will be good to have a film to watch if the weather is bad :)

So obviously good at more than just stating what I wouldn't buy then, eh?

4GB of RAM is too low. Should I run with the crowd just because they don't know better?

Whilst there is an A9+ with 8GB of RAM, it's not sold in the U.K. 6GB is as good as it gets that that model. Low quality cameras etc. It really depends on it's purpose. At least the OP seems to be happy at coming in under budget.

I sold my iPad Air M2 and replaced with a Samsung Tab S9 for maximum interoperability with my S22 Ultra mobi. Having both Apple and Samsung 'ecosystems' and them not playing together made no sense.
