Has anyone been to Butlin's Minehead on one of these £9.50 holidays? One friend says all rides at the funfair are free (with entertainment pass) another says you have to pay foe each ride which could greatly increase the cost! Can anyone confirm/deny this please?
go karts and driving school etc are payable
but the majority of fair rides are inc in the passes

I'm new to these Sun Holidays, I've looked through the list and I'm considering this place as my first choice: http://www.ukholidaysinthesun.co.uk/cgi-bin/UKHS_park_0003.cgi?copy=1092&promo=SUNSPR08
can anyone recommend this place or are there better choices in Scotland for myself and 2 children (14 and 7 years old)? Any advice greatly appreciated!0 -

Ok, thanks for that. And it seems so nice in the photos and description! Makes me wonder about the rest of them. I'll look through Tripadvisor for reviews on my other choices. Thanks again.0 -

The outside fairground rides (Dodgems, gallopers etc) are free. The swimming pool/flume is free. Entertainment is free.
There are charges for the smaller "rides" within the Skyline, bowling etc.
Check with the Butlins site as to "what's on when". You don't want to be taking kids when it's an Adult weekend, for example...0 -

i used to work there, and can confirm, that most of the rides in the fairground are free, except as mentioned apart from go-karts(roughly £2.50 a go) and driving school, mind you that was about 8 years ago now, but i keep in contact with friends there and they have just confirmed this, HTH Dave.Take every day as it comes!!0 -

I've been reading more reviews (from here: http://forum.holidaywatchdog.com/Holiday-Parks-Forum.html ) and I think I'll just forget about the whole idea. Seems these places are full of yobs etc.0

aww dont let them totally put you off
they are fab for a cheap family break :T
some of the people that complain are just picking holes (what do they expect from a typical UK holiday park ? the hilton ? ) and like to complain about everything & anything
and some sites are genuinely awful and full of chavs
a lot of the sites have good reviews too, and are in lovely scenic locations
what im saying is they are what they are! typical UK holiday parks,so long as you dont go expecting 5 star you / your children might enjoy it
they arent for everyone though, and thats why some people opt out of the "entertainment" and just use it as a base0
