have to agree on teh stores and service - they are so obviously an agressively (and therefore bad tempered-ly) run company - and that ethos spreads to the staff by both the way they are treated and they way their superiors are seen to behave.

I speak from being a small part of a company that has a buisness relationship with them (opinions not that of the company and all that :p ) - and because of that can also say that they are not actually closing down - so their big closing down sale is a big con too!!!! laaahvely. Cheap t-shirts though.

My OH is in the Salford branch at this very moment. I've asked him to get me a top for the gym..."what size?" says he  ho hum! If he comes back with Extra Large he's sleeping in the garden tonight!

I have to agree that this is the worst laid out shop with the rudest shop assistants. If anyone's ever tried to get through the shop while pushing a pram then you'll know what I mean.

We have a Sports World at Nottingham and that says 'ALL STOCK MUST GO' in the window, lots of the stock is poor quality, so cheap but not good value. It is also the first shop I have used for many years that issue credit notes.

forgetting that they are sheeeite at service and they only have 1 person serving on a till with 20 people trying to buy stuff and there is only 1 changing room for a 2 floored shop ( merry hill) while 20 chavs walk around with hangovers and talking to their little grunt friends instead of helping any customer.

    this is what i found

trainers-- forget any 'sale' they are the same price as they were before the sale.

t-shirts such as No Fear, bargains galore, my other half will think i have got sponsorship from them, i picked up 6 different tshirts/ polo shirts all under 5 quid a piece. these were all minimum of 15 quid anywhere else including tk maxx

jeans most were no name or catapillar but again i found some No Fear cool looking jeans reduced from £50 to £11.50.

all other stuff is same price as before with a couple little bargains but no major stuff. golf brolly for £2.49

as i say all footwear has stayed the same price it was months ago. i was amused at the " closing down sale everything must go" sign in the window and inside a sign saying " hurry sale ends soon"

all in all i spent £42 on 6 branded tops ( no fear, every one of them) and no fear jeans which according to the tickets means £162 full priced...saving of £120 although i would not have looked twice at full price.
what is the plural of moose?

I know the manager of our local store & he gets paid a bonus not on how much he sells but on how little he gets stolen. Hence everyone is not a custoemr but a potential thief. They don't care whether you buy or not as they are so agressive with pricing they know they don't need customer care. Just look at most of the customers whoa re in their stores.....

    Regards

Is this the place that will only offer refunds on the same day of purchase? And they only do that coz they're obliged to.

If so, we've got a few branches of the tacky outlets near us.

I have never heard of the "they are obliged to give a refund if purchased on the same day" law, Are you sure of that (have a url so i can read up on it?)

By law retailers are allowed [i think] up to 4 "Closing Down" sales per annum, I know they are definately allowed to have at least one "closing down" sale a year - but these are actually closing down and relaunching under a different brand name.
Might pop in tommorrow - need some new trainers - never had anything before the sale though, so doubt they will do in the sale :-\

Once you buy anything you are not entitled to any refund unless its faulty that applies to any shop in England.

The Lincoln one is apparently closing down but the prices are the same as always, must admit they do have some low priced branded clothing like Catepillar T Shirts for around £3 and Umbro T Shirts for about £3 as well.
