Fabulous OATing @greent 🥂 I presume DS1 is at school, outrageous that they have their own lab coats that need cleaning! We were just given whatever what was knocking about if we were lucky 😁
Well done @KajiKita, I know you hate that job! Hope those bins are well emptied 💪
Excellent work as ever @greenbee. What are you going to do with yourself when your gaff is sorted 😂
Before the month is out (in three days!) I must must must call 'virgin on the ridiculous' and try to get some info about broadband connections to the build. I have been putting this off simply because I do not want to, but this OAT is not being dragged into November!https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6466032/an-in-between-phase

Haha! You lot are too kind! - I run out of energy very quickly on a working week (side effect of 2 meds I take) so get very little done other than the bare minimum normally - hence attempting to blitz everything in school hols
Everyone else tends to be far more consistent than me (well done on all of your achievements!) - it's a bit feast or famine here!
Yesterday I mended several tiny holes in a top I really like (it's heavily patterned, disguising repairs and I might get a few more wears out of it), used most of a (not very potent) bottle of hydrogen peroxide on DS1's labcoat (he works in the science department of a school), finished cleaning the hob (it looks beautiful, if I say so myself!), deep cleaned the downstairs loo (ceiling (cobwebs in dental coving - grr), wiped down walls, cleaned window (and got distracted and cleaned the outside of the window, outside sill and then front door and the long window next to that...), attacked marks on the chrome fittings with foil, cleaned everywhere and vacuumed and mopped 'properly', as opposed to letting the robotvac do it), got DS1 to vac the 2 landings and sets of stairs, got DS3 to clean the kitchen cupboard doors, moved everything on worktops and windowsills in kitchen and cleaned and polished (black granite...) those, did another 2 hours of work (who am I kidding this is a week off?!), put various things back in the garage and motorhome, shopped around and got new house insurance, took DS1 to see his gf, relocated some things from dining room to where they should be (and the usual washing/ ironing/ cooking)
Today I will do less in the house - but only because I'm out for part of the day!

Wowsers @greent!! 🤣 Once again, I'm exhausted just reading that lot ....
" cobwebs in dental coving" ...?? 🤔
I hope you get some downtime during your time out of the house today
Meanwhile, I am pleased as I used my 'tiny time slot' before leaving for work this morning, to review and flatten 3 out of 4 of the plastic, ziploc bags I used for my cuttings the other week that needed time to lose their condensation. The 4th one was still damp in 1 corner, so I've almost turned that inside out to dry and will be able to fold that 4th one and put them all away in the relevant kitchen drawer this evening!

Forgot to say that yesterday I finally finished handwashing the bras that had been soaking for ages. They're now airing on the bathroom towel rail.
Lick mats and kongs have been assembled this morning (while the dog is out for a half-day of daycare) and are slowly being deposited in the freezer. DW is on (just enough solar to run an eco programme).
Plumber has been called instead of messaged. Still no response, but I've asked him to let me know if he can't do it based on the dates I've given him. I'll give it to the end of this week and then look at alternatives, but it's too short notice to get anyone else to do the work which is very frustrating.
Need to look into whether I need building control involved when I block up the garage doors given that we're having to put footings in as there aren't any... might ask the builder. I don't have plans for the conversion yet as that's a year or so off, but don't want to have to dig them out at that stage.0 -
We are in the same position as we are waiting for a plumber to give us a date. They are so hard to get a hold of and we can't get the other workman to do the other job until the plumber finishes his work! So irritating.greenbee said:Plumber has been called instead of messaged. Decorator is already booked, and the plumber knows this. He's also the one who says 'we'll work it out nearer the time' as he doesn't seem to be able to book work in advance. I have to say, it's really motivating me to get the oil boiler replaced with a heat pump...Wednesday2000 said:

Our plumber is exactly the same. Having said that when I ring him or text him he's usually give me a date for the following week.
My old plumber used to book the following year's service on the day of service! Certainly a lot more organised than the current one!1 -
I'll call tomorrow morning and Friday morning. After which I'll try to make alternative arrangements.
The problem with having the carpet done after the decorating is that there are a few scuff marks on the walls. But then if you put the carpet down first it ends up full of dust... As the landing carpet isn't new (underlay will be, but carpet is being reused) I think I'll try to get that done before the decorator starts.1
