Taking a screenshot of your bank transactions when the app blocks you?

You say 'Some times I need to take a screenshot of recent transactions.'
Whatever way you manage to do that seems to be a faff. It might be worth taking a step back and reviewing why you need to do it?
I've been using banking apps for many years and never once felt the need for a photo of any of my transactions. What am I missing?
Occasionally I want to see a reminder of what I spent but they are all there in the app, even purchases made only moments ago.2 -

You're wanting me to justify to you why I want to do what I'm saying I want to do?0 -

You're taking a screenshot to achieve X.
Since it looks like you can't take a screenshot then if we know what X is we may be able to come up with a way of achieving that without taking a screenshot.

With some banking apps I can download current transactions or from a date range.0

I asked the question.
People didn't provide a workaround (because I guess there isn't one)
And that's that.
If people want to continue posting then that's fine. I'll respond. Doesn't mean I haven't accepted it though.Andy_L said:B0bbyEwing said:Alderbank said:You say 'Some times I need to take a screenshot of recent transactions.'

What the people here are wanting is Y - to know why I want to take a screenshot, because they don't accept the answer that because I just do.
I've been away for a while & made various spends on a credit card. I thought there may have been a bogus transaction so what I was going to do was screenshot it & then cross off each transaction as I cross check it, rather than continuously scrolling & marking it off in my head. It would've just been a very quick way to do it if I could screenshot.
I've since sorted it but I've done this before with other banks & I'll probably want to do it again in the future at some point. With which bank who knows, it depends what I use at the time.
That's all it was.1 -
All said and done it's a commercial/security decision on the part of some banks to not allow screen grabs. There is no known workaround on the device that I'm aware of. One positive aspect is that some banks (RBS that I know of) have changed their policy, so there is some hope that the likes of Barclays may be amenable to change.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Credit Cards, Savings & investments, and Budgeting & Bank Accounts boards. The likely reason is one of security, ie the bank being concerned that malicious software could be “screen scraping”, or the user allowing someone to remotely access their device and save screenshots.
FWIW, the Santander, Fidelity Investments and Nationwide apps on my iPhone allow me to take/save screenshots, I’ve just tried it.1 -

Other than changing banks to one with a better app could you
Take a pic of the card reader before tapping it?
Use Google wallet/PayPal/apple pay as an intermediary and grab a screenshot from that app instead?

But the bit I put in bold - I never even thought about that as an option & that one's the winner here because it does exactly what I wanted. I'll know for next time now. Thanks.1
