The best laid plans…

 Everything was going to plan.  Christmassing was on schedule, the house was getting cleaner by the day and my contingency time for responding to legal stuff turned out to be a wise move (bully builder has delighted in dumping stuff on us before the holiday 😡).

Then, on Saturday, we got a call to say that the Littlest Fortunate was in hospital with pneumonia 😲  He’s going to be ok but is still very poorly and needs to stay at home.  So the family won’t be joining us for Christmas after all 😥  We are heartbroken of course but so grateful that Littlest is recovering and out of danger.

So we are on to Plan B… which we are making up as we go along 😂

I’ve revised our Christmas Lunch booking to just the two of us.  We won’t get a refund on the cancelled spaces and it wouldn’t be fair to ask.  There were some friends who I thought would join us but one of them has the flu and is also confined to quarters.  So it’ll just be the two of us.

We have a fridge bulging with food so I’ll have to think about what I can freeze and what we’ll need to eat up.  There’s a chance the family will be able to join us the weekend after New Year for a belated celebration so anything with a long use by date can be kept until then.

I’m trying to keep a positive outlook.  It will be good to have some recuperation and reflection time.  And I think I might still make it to the Nice List yet 🎅

Thank goodness Littlest Fortunate is out of danger and recovering - and here's hoping the postponed celebration can go ahead at a future time, it'll be a heck of a joyous family time 😁
