🌞 Happy Days in our Golden Years 🌞

Thank you @rtandon27 I've felt so much fitter this year and don't want to set back my progress. I bought some dumbbells before being ill to do a little weight training at home and haven't used them yet. I might give them a try tomorrow.
It's a bit of a learning curve at the moment trying to find alternatives for my usual buys @Staffordia - white flour is in absolutely everything. Even M@rmit£ has added synthetic folic acid! I'm not sure I'll be able to avoid it completely but I'm trying to limit it.
Thank you @Humdinger1 - I'm grateful to be healthy and warm.

I don't like the wind either, and having seen how our chickens used to really not like it, I properly feel the phrase 'it ruffles my feathers' 😂 Our house is surrounded by trees, very close, including a recently dead elm right outside the back door, so I always half expect to come home to one through the roof 😬

I feel your pain @Cheery_Daff - feathers definitely ruffling here 🐥 Our new neighbours have kindly cut down some extremely tall trees on the boundary between our properties. They were very close to our house and the roots had started to tear up the road. I was constantly worried about them coming down in a storm as the prevailing wind here would have blown them right on to the roof. I don't have to worry about that anymore but often our roof slates lift and then thump back down and that keeps me awake at night.
How sad about your elm. Will you take it down? We often leave our lost trees standing as they are good for nature but right by the back door sounds risky. They aren't good for fire wood either - 'Elm wood burns like churchyard mould' as the poem goes.
Storm Austen hasn't, in fact, been as bad for us as expected. However… Storm Boelo is hot on its heels 🙄

AI says…
'Strong wind makes you feel anxious because your brain and nervous system interpret unpredictable sounds, movements, and air pressure shifts as potential environmental threats.'
'strong winds can alter the balance of electrical charges (ions) in the air, and there is a long-standing, controversial scientific hypothesis linking this process to changes in brain serotonin levels. This phenomenon is most famous in the study of regional "ill winds"—such as the Foehn in the Alps, the Santa Ana in California, and the Sharav in Israel—which have centuries-old reputations for causing irritability, anxiety, and headaches.'
So it might be a thing.
