Little by Little

Another window has been Christmassed 😂 I also fed the cake and wrapped it. Little by little I am getting a march on Christmas.

Gym class this morning. I've worked up to 3 sessions a week and am going to introduce a fourth home yoga session this weekend to see how I get on. My shoulder still twinges from time to time so I have to add extra exercise slowly. Gym membership is another thing we spend our former mortgage money on and it's been great for my health and fitness. I stayed on for coffee with the girls after. A friend bought my coffee but I still ended up spending £5. We are having a class Christmas meal and, traditionally, we club together to pay for the instructor's meal. Only this year we have two instructors so we are paying for both of them. I'm happy to contribute. Both instructors go the extra mile for us and I appreciate them.

I pushed the vaccuum cleaner around downstairs and contacted the company who fitted our new back door in the summer. We still have two replacement panes of glass that need replacing again because they are dirty on the inside. I've put off chasing them up because we thought there would be work going on in that room but, as that has been delayed, they might as well come and do the job.

We shared a pizza for lunch topped with lots of bits and pieces from the fridge that needed using up. Supper was Roasted Squash, Blue Cheese & Leek Risotto with Walnuts.

A lovely hot, bubble bath has finished off the day nicely 🛀

Also love hearing how you spend your old mortgage payment! I've definitely got a handy person on the list should we ever pay ours off 😂

If I remember rightly, you had a street scene last year? I'm going to try that next.

Yes I did! I did look at a few for inspiration but then just made it up. I loved it! Only did one window, might do more!

I remember the light threw reflections of them onto the wall which made things even more beautiful.

Fun

My day today has been mostly about.... fun! 😁

Met up with some other WI ladies for our monthly lunch club. It was in a pub I'd not visited before but is only 20 minutes away. The food was fabulous so I've added it to the list of places to go if we want to eat out. Costs to be met from this month's personal spends. Interestingly (to me), I don't think we eat out any more now than when we had the mortgage. We've always had a monthly budget for entertainment and we haven't increased that amount.

Popped into town on the way back primarily to get my fringe cut. It's been bothering me since I had my hair done a couple of weeks ago - I think my hairdresser might have just forgotten to cut it 😲 It really was very long. All sorted now and he didn't charge me anything 😁

I dropped into Mr M & Mr S whilst there and bought some items of Christmas food from my list. So one breakfast and one evening meal have been sorted for our festive feast. I want to spend more time with the family and less time in the kitchen this year (although everyone mucks in) so we're having a posh ready meal on Christmas Eve, eating out on Christmas Day and I'll make something for Boxing Day which can be frozen ahead of time.

Supper was risotto leftover from yesterday and we've opened a bottle of red to go with it 😁

Curses

The weekend has gone so quickly and I don't feel I've done much with it. Largely because I decided I'd finish my sequinned top from last week's workshop. It should have taken a few hours but actually took 1 and 1/2 days 😲 The less said about that the better as lots of curse words were involved 😂 Anyhoo, I eventually ended up with a wearable garment and lots and lots of learns 😂 Which was the whole point I suppose 🤔

Apart from that, I managed to chalk paint 1/2 a window 😂 I ran out of light to do the other 1/2 - it's getting late early in these parts 😂

Lunches were Hearty Pasta Soup and we had a freezer fish and chip supper Saturday night and Baked Cauliflower Pizzaiola with garlic bread last night.
