When we have RL dilemmas friends are invaluable I think. Hope you can find a way to give up the SE job as I know you've wanted to for a while now ♥️0

Thanks DFW, I do indeed wanna give up the SE job I've done for 23 years. The problem is, for what it is, it's good money that's pretty reliable and hard to replace that amount with other jobs!
It was never meant to be a career. But, it was very convenient to fit around a grievance family.
Now they are much older I an really ready to change my life up in every way.
Step by step, slowly slowly big changes are coming! And that's what I need, I've been so stuck in a rut. Today I feel a little bit clearer

I hope you manage to get a realistic plan for sorting the job situation. I kind of fell into my career rather than choosing it and whilst I am good at it and it suits my personality type, 'I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up'
I think I also have a fear of change so to me you are very brave x

I'm not sure if it's being brave, or stupid or something else even. But its definetly time!!LittleMissDetermined said:I hope you manage to get a realistic plan for sorting the job situation. Lots of mulling over to be done!
And there is no rush!
DD started a new college place so it's 2 years until I can move. Which gives me plenty of time to sort myself out!,!
Popped down to see my mum this morning, she's ordered a present for my eldest (birthday coming up) and managed to send it to hers not ours.!!
Also went through her Dvd collection and put 3/4 into the boxes for the CS. Also brought home a massive printer DH says it's still worth about£150 and it was my dad's who passed away several years ago. Also in the boot to come back here was a bags of dvds to take to the Cs, a box of cables and tech stuff, 2 cups, an egg cup and a safe! - Pretty random!
I have been trying to keep the stuff at mums while I sell it for her, but the printer and the safe needed DH to look at them and check / fix before selling!

5.10 and I've just shut the curtains! It's proper dark 😭
I do find the lack of light really hard. Often thought about those SAD lamps and wondered if it was worth it. 🤔
Roasting some veggies, onion, Peper courgette, garlic and tomatoes to have with yesterday's curry leftovers ( nice bit of fusion food!!)
DS has bought a ready meal for himself! And DD will prob moan about the veggies and have a pizza!
I'm. Going to try and eat down the freezers this week.
We have ALOT of frozen fruit, so need to get a plan either as to vodka, make jam or something else!!!
We've got raspberries, gooseberries, redcurrant and some blackberries!0 -
I have a SAD lamp, I would not be without it now, all good on a day like today when I am outside all day and it is mostly sunny but tomorrow when I will be at my desk it will go on was I start work.
I struggle with mood anyway but am really poor without it from about mid November. If you are going to get one I would not bother with the clocks but go for the actual lamp (I do have a clock but it does not really help much although I may try setting it as it was proper dark when I woke up this morning)Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thanks watty, I will take a look at the lamps, I might make a wish list for Xmas and pop one in there! Mums always asking what she can get me!Watty1 said:I have a SAD lamp, I would not be without it now, all good on a day like today when I am outside all day and it is mostly sunny but tomorrow when I will be at my desk it will go on was I start work.

I have a sad lamp and love it! It brightens the whole room. I should find it actually... haven't seen it since last winter.1

Jut been looking, they are cheaper than I thought. Plus there 1on fbmp for £15, if its still available I think I might be sorely tempted
I would refer to get second hand one if I can. We've been through so much stuff if my mums. Way too much of the tech stuff has ended up here for us to sort out and where possible sell. It was making me think about the amount of plug in stuff we all have. And I thought literally about an hour ago I shouldn't buy more.🤣 And here I am looking at sad lamps 😬😬1
