iWeb Change to Scottish Widows

Hi everyone,
IWeb have provided MSE with a response to this thread which we're posting below on their behalf:It’s great to see so many people talking about our move to Scottish Widows.
While we wait to confirm a new date, we wanted to share a quick update and clear up a few things. We’d originally planned to make the changes on 18 October, and given the size of the update, we needed a longer change window than usual. During the change, we encountered some challenges and, to avoid compromising existing services, chose to roll back the changes. We’ll go again soon, keeping the update scheduled outside of trading hours to reduce any disruption.
What’s next
We’ll give you a heads-up before the next attempt. During the switch, account access will be temporarily unavailable. We’ll also update our site, so you have the right links. In the meantime, you can continue using your IWeb account as usual.Logging in
Once the update goes live, you’ll log in to your Scottish Widows Share Dealing account via the Scottish Widows website using your current login details. The layout will feel familiar, and before the end of the year, you’ll be able to access your account through the Scottish Widows app.Regular Investing
Just to clear up your questions on the introduction of free regular investing: the plan lets you invest from £20, either as a one-off or monthly, across our full range of investment options. You’re free to start or stop whenever it suits you.Still using the IWeb site?
To help with the move, the IWeb site will remain live for a while after the switch, with guidance to help you find your way to your new Scottish Widows Share Dealing account.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think we are all surprised at how many people here are talking about this rebrand but then I guess iWeb has been a forum favourite for many years as the only way I know to hold OIEC(s) in an ISA with no ongoing charge.MSE_JC said:IWeb have provided MSE with a response to this thread which we're posting below on their behalf:It’s great to see so many people talking about our move to Scottish Widows.
Sadly for them I don't see us suggesting or discussing the platform as often going forwards as it's much longer to type Scottish Widows in a reply and we'll have to explain to people how to navigate to the right part of the website to avoid them getting confused the the various legacy products they might still offer or have information about.

Don't think iweb (Scottish Widows) if they are reading this thread can see the thanks count. But that post of yours received 10 thanks which is a lot of posters who are thinking the same way, myself included.mebu60 said:Was pretty straightforward website, rather hoping they resist the temptation to 'enhance' it.

People will just call it SW.Alexland said:

I agree it would be a lot easier if the dealing bit had its own website.2 -
"Regular Investing

Nice to see that SW are listening to us.
Will wait and see how this actually works, as aren't the terms "regular" and "one-off" at odds with each other??
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)4 -
Maybe but SW is a lot less clear to the non-regular forum members than iWeb which they could just google if they didn't know what it was. If I was mentioning it to a forum newbie as a platform to consider for their situation then I'd be compelled to type the full name, or not bother. Even in forum messages between regulars then using just SW will make it harder for the lurkers to follow.DRS1 said:People will just call it SW.
I wonder what proportion of their new account signups originate from people reading this forum?2 -

I'm sure we'll all just abbreviate to 'SWSD' 🤔Alexland said:
