iWeb Change to Scottish Widows

I'm sure they will tell us when the new site is ready. Probably an automatic redirect will be set up for anyone visiting the old site and will probably be in place for a long time. People in this thread are just keen to try and get an early look I guess.ivormonee said:I see the SW investing link above, thanks. But I also think it's up to iWeb to provide its customers with any links. Most customers will not come searching for links from a third party forum! iWeb have not informed me of anything other than the fact they were to be migrating to SW, and that we would be re-directed and provided with the new web address. However, this simply is not happening. I am still using iWeb which is continuing to work as normal and is not re-directing to SW.7 -
Very true, thanks. I might add also, that when I go onto the SW website I cannot find any way to navigate to the page for which you provided a link above. Without knowing that link from you, I can't seem to find any way to obtain it from SW themselves via their website. It would also appear that there may be more than one type of login for SW, possibly adding some further confusion, for me at least anyway.masonic said:I'm sure they will tell us when the new site is ready. (Nothing wrong with a bit of optimsm.) Scottish Widows customers don't seem to get it so easy. https://www.scottishwidows.co.uk/register.html1

iWeb said that it would be Widowed yesterday. That clearly did not happen. The switch over seems to have failed and they have rolled back to the previous situation. The whole idea of marrying iWeb and SW is messy. Two confusingly similar product ranges on the same website. I completed my quarterly transactions a week or so ago. Hopefully, everything will be running smoothly by the new year.ivormonee said:iWeb have not informed me of anything other than the fact they were to be migrating to SW, and that we would be re-directed and provided with the new web address. Would have thought the customers for the two sites are very different and can't see typical Iweb clients having any interest in Scottish Widows products and much the same in the other direction.Let's hope the app is less of a dog's breakfast.

No comms from iWeb at all. Shockingly bad given yesterday was the date they published.ivormonee said:I see the SW investing link above, thanks. Looks like to change over has failed. None of this inspires confidence.
I spent my career managing huge IT cutovers for a global company and it would never have been maanged as badly as this with zero comms.0 -

If you’re a new customer, you might not receive all our direct communications. Don’t worry, as well as our direct communications, we’ll post updates online. This way, everyone can stay informed about changes."
Indeed!

It does seem like they failed to "migrate" and put back old and no update on the site but no big deal as some people are making it out to be. Still will be usable as it always has been by the looks of it for the market open.
As for the app it's always been stated it's coming soon / they'll let you know when it's available. Don't remember it stating it will be available at launch so no reason to keep trying to register on SW app.2 -
I guess LBG just decided they wanted to manage less brands and iweb was seen as a niche / non-strategic brand and something that could reinvigorate the more recognisable but ailing SW brand.Rollinghome said:Would agree though that the logic and strategy of it all is puzzling, both from the view of their business and of their clients. Other than rebranding iweb then I expect they will still keep it as HSD Ltd being a shared investment platform for their Lloyds, Halifax and SW brands. By operating under multiple brands they can attract different groups of customers with the different pricing structures and attempt to cross sell services to existing customers of that brand. There was basically zero cross sell opportunity with the iweb brand.

" IWeb is joining the Scottish Widows family
From 18 October you’ll see IWeb start to move over to Scottish Widows Share Dealing. Your log in details and account number will stay the same. Plus, you’ll soon be able to enjoy the convenience of the Scottish Widows app.
We’ll keep in touch along the way, so you’re always in the know."
The above is the message on the IWeb front page.
They didn't say everything would change on 18th October. They said it would start from 18th October.
Nothing has changed today, so there's nothing for them to communicate about. I don't see how this is shockingly bad or evidence of a failed switchover.
