    It's back up again.....

If I was half as smart as I think I am - I'd be twice as smart as I REALLY am.

Yes - I was too late for V2 and have been signed up for the more expensive V3 !

The latest and probably the best so far is 12m fixed August 2025 V2, came out yesterday.
Seems to be cheaper than the last six tariffs.

How do I find it ?
    Octopus don't make this easy
    1. Log in to your Octopus account

    2. Click 'Change my tariff': it's one of the first options under your account balance.

    3. There, you can compare your energy costs on your current tariff to our other available tariffs.

    4. If you see an option you like, you'll be able to switch to it yourself online.

Its NOT there on my account

Someone posted this previously, use the following link by inserting your own account number where it says 'account%20number', and this will show you your current tariff and the price of the available fix.

    https://octopus.energy/dashboard/accounts/account number/tariff-renewal/#/

(edit: you need to be logged in already to use this link!)

Incidentally, we're now onto v4 already....

I switched my gas over to v2 from my previous loyal 14M fix as it was a bit cheaper, the electric has dropped a little bit with v3/4 and the lesser standing charge now makes it roughly the same as my old fix, so just requested they switch the electric too. Might as well extend the term of the fix....

Despite it being at V1 when I applied and it being at V3 yesterday - Octopus have apparently put me in at V4
This is considerably more than any of the previous rates
Is it worth me complaining ?

You keep using "considerably more" when it does not apply.

There is no "applying", you click on accept, you either immediately move to that tariff if out of contract or it starts at the end of your current fixed term. There is no application period, you get the V.# that is live at the time you click on the button.

    My fix ends 22nd September
I received an email saying my fix was ending and gave me the rates for a new fix or variable
Did say it may not be available for long
I clicked on the fixed rate and dot notification that rate would apply after current one ends

Then why have I been given V4 ?
When I clicked the button - it was either V1 or V2 -Which is noticeably less expensive than V4

    Only Octopus can answer that.
If they've put you on a different tariff to the one you agreed to, you'll have to take it up with them.
