By way of contrast:subjecttocontract said:Virgin to Royal Bank of Scotland......slow & no communications, non whatsoever. I guess I'm expected to submit a transfer form and wait the 15 working days to see if it happens.......or not. At the moment I have very little confidence in the process. It's absolutely appaling. Zero out of 10.
Kent to Nat West......fantastic, quick, lots of communication, very happy. 10 out of 10.

Opened new ISa with RBS on 2 Dec, including requesting transfer from Santander. ISA is open with £0 but heard nothing about the transfer from either bank.0

Lets hope RBS issue a satisfaction questionnaire so we can let them know how unimpressed we are.0

I've never had an issue with transfers until the latest attempt from Chip to Barclays which has now been rejected 3 times.
1. My full name and one line of my address didn't match exactly. Barclays system had an old county name.
2. I stated I wasn't transferring current years subs as I hadn't made any yet this caused an issue with Chip and I basically had to say yes for it to be treated as a full transfer.
3. Chip now can't find my ISA even through the sort code and account number match.
Ridiculous and time consuming on my part for something that should be so straight forward. I'm also likely to miss out on £300 cashback.0 -
Why do you have no account number? I did a couple of transfers out of VIDA using an account number and had no problems.Zaul22 said:Transfer from Vida failed because they 'couldn't find my account'. They don't use account numbers and I wrote my NI number in the role number. What else could they possibly need?0 -
They don't use individual account numbers, it's the same clearing bank for everyone like 95% of ISA banks, which is why the form is really outdated and useless. I'm trying again with my reference this time, which they should really just change the forms to say. I have never seen any bank ever use a 'roll number'.
With a different transfer attempt though, even that doesn't work. The Barclays transfer process will only accept numbers in the roll number field, and all reference 'numbers' also have letters in them.
Turns out Vida's mistake was helpful since the bank I was transferring to increased the rate and now I can reapply for the new one...0 -
Fixed that for you😉subjecttocontract said:Let’s hope RBS issue a satisfaction questionnaire so we can let them know how unimpressed some of us are.0 -

Ford Money to RBS
I opened an RBS 1 year fxed ISA paying 4.20% on Friday, and it appeared in my online banking this morning. They said 2 working days so 3 is possibly just acceptable.
Today I requested a full balance transfer from Ford Money (FCE Bank UK) on the RBS app. I know that Ford Money use Barclays as their bank, so I did not put in the account number and sort code. All I entered was my 7-digit ISA account number.
As reported on this thread, there was no text or email acknowledgement of this from RBS. Neither was there any indication of timescale. I will post again if I receive any communications from either RBS or Ford Money.
Edit 17/12/25 19:42
I have just seen that the rate for new accounts has been reduced to 3.80%. It's pretty clear that RBS are expecting a base rate reduction tomorrow/0
