There's nothing like a healthy marriage.
Challenge it, because you want to fight for what's right on his behalf.
Or don't, because you're together out of boredom.

The registered keeper ( the person whose name is on the registration document) is the person to whom the parking company's invoice is addressed. The registered keeper is the person who will appeal the ticket.
Do NOT identify the Driver or even hinted at the identity.
Your first port of call is the practice or whoever employed the parking company. Ask them to instruct (not ask) their parking company to cancel.

Assuming the parking company is working for the surgery, ask the surgery to tell the parking company to cancel the invoice. That's what I did when I received one for allegedly breaching the terms and conditions for parking in a hotel car park.  It was much easier asking the hotel to get it cancelled  than appealing to the parking company on the grounds that I was staying at the hotel, had registered my car at reception and was therefore entitled to park in the car park until my later than normal check out.

To be fair, it wouldn’t really have mattered who your husband was transporting as this actually has nothing to do with the fine itself. Assuming you were aware that he needed to enter the registration number on arrival at the surgery, it was up to you to let him know this in advance. If you didn’t tell him then in your shoes my conscience would be playing on me. However, if neither one of you knew, and there were no adequate signs anywhere in the parking area or the doctors’ surgery, then this is neither your fault nor your husband’s. In this case I would definitely appeal against the fine. Hope this helps & good luck.

It's not a fine and there's no real appeal.

Oh Wow, can't believe this is even an issue between a happily married couple. Maybe agree to go halves and lesson learned? If you can't sort that out, maybe a divorce lawyer is required.

If you're married, surely when one pays the other pays? I don't get it.

I have no idea why any MSE posters are talking about PAYING a scam invoice?!

This one is odd on two levels

1 - Of course you challenge it - as other responders have said, it’s a private fine anyway but regardless, you didn’t park illegally and cameras could show that. Forgetting to register on a private system does not make you liable for a fine

2 - You’re married? Clearly you don’t have joint finances and that’s fine but you are a team are you not?? Unless this a long running feud about you dealing with everything then do you not tackle this together?? Yes he was the driver but he was also doing a good deed. And you’re a married couple!

Regardless of the above, do not pay it
