Sounds really difficult, @weenancyinAmerica. Hope the situation improves for you. It's not fair that you're doing everything for everyone. Sending hugs.
Good luck with your appointment.
Walked to the post office after breakfast, used my free stamps to send a birthday present. Collected DS3 from work & went to the hospital for his appointment. He was there for 2.75 hours, I nearly nodded off whilst reading my book, so deleted emails & then watched a TV programme. He doesn't have what he was diagnosed with, so samples/swabs taken for further tests. Fingers crossed its treatable.
Met mum & went food shopping. Should be covered now until I can drive again, or DH nips to the shop in the village.
Put the shopping away & paired up socks.
Grateful for DS getting more tests, a nice walk this morning, that tomorrow I'm getting my cataracts removed 😀Use it up, wear it out

@Thrifty_Taylor - I had cataracts done one week apart. Other than seeing double when I drive, am doing well. Have to close one eye when I drive, but my left eye does that automatically now. This is related to the diabetes.
You shouldn't have any problem with yours. We will be keeping our eyes crossed for you - an old Kentucky saying, supposed to be stronger than crossing just the fingers. Sending hugs and prayers your way.

hugs to weenancy, thrifty and anyone else in need of one (or who would like one). Sorry to neglect you all but I've slept for most of last night, yesterday and the night before. I have a food order coming this afternoon and I included ear drops. I have some in the house (last seen when I was putting pills and medications away and I have an empty container (will refill) but it will all get used and balance and itchy ears are bothering me so one easy fix.
I've been using eye drops and other things to alleviate the worst of my hayfever (I think all 3 allergens - grass, pollen and trees are active now) and cough medicine and throat lozenges. Need to put my shoes on so I can sort the bagged recycling, put washing out on the line and check if anything is dry (I brought in all my dresses bur everything else has been subject to intermittent rain over the last few days). I have made a start on chopping vegetables.
I'm considering a Will Co order - I have a number of items jotted down but undecided how much I need them (some things most people have and consider 'normal' but I have patchy history with eg laundry baskets. I feel the need to make progress now that I'm compos mentis (a mental compost heap). Way behind with weeding as everywhere is wet. Had a serious wobble on Monday night. I nearly fell on the floor. If I sit up in the wrong part of the sofa when getting in up in the middle of the night I end up too low to stand up and I started sliding towards the floor. After multiple attempts to push myself up with my arms and throw myself back and up, I finally sat on the couch.
I was really cross, determined to get the Council to take both couches away and buy a proper bed (couch is too short and too narrow), Sleeping all day slowed me down and gave me time to cool off. DS3 and Beloved left this morning but will be back tonight (maybe).
I don't need you to feel sorry for me, I'm just angry about my body not doing what I need it to do and frustrated by the need to stop after standing for a while. Good News I may be getting some flexibility back - several times I've been able to lie with both knees bent or with one leg drawn up to my body, neither of which have been options for a while. I need to get organised but I may concentrate on a couple of boxes and a trolley for now.
Grateful for podcasts, books and games, feeling rested (it's taking me hours to come fully awake and I'm having trouble knowing what day it is) knowing the plodding matters.9 -

That's the way I feel about my body too. Keep asking why I am falling apart. I can only stand up and walk a few feet at a time right now - so have my walker and a chair, as well as an armchair, positioned where I need them. So getting to the kitchen (the furthest room from my bedroom) takes three sit-downs, before I can feed the cats. Doctor says it is the spondylosis, diabetic neuropathy, and the swollen ankles, all getting together. So can't tell what is causing the problem or if they are just ganging up on me. So I don't know if surgery on the back will work or not. Fortunately for me, the cats don't seem too offended by the language I use sometimes (roommates aren't up at that time) trying to get them fed.6

Sending hugs @grandmanerd, @weenancyinAmerica & @beanielou.
Thank you all for your well wishes, my surgery went well. Was home by 2pm yesterday. After a chat with the policeman in Aberdeen, he told me that he now has all DS's things & can release them to us soon. Such a relief!
Today I can read & send messages on my phone when wearing reading glasses. Think it'll take a while to get used to this way round, as for the last 47 years, I've been the opposite! Not complaining though. Spoke again to the policeman & we're aiming to go to Aberdeen the week after next, subject to the railway letting us have access, to lay some flowers.
Knitted bgonk arms this morning, whilst listening to a story CD. The case has 6 CDs in it, so thought I'd listen to one per day, then donate it.. DH harvested the rhubarb for me, then I prepped it for the freezer & did the dishes. I then started knitting a gonk for my neighbour's birthday next week.
Grateful for seeing better today, getting closer to collecting DS's belongings & DH for putting in my eyedropsUse it up, wear it out
