Well done Pip! 🎉
Took DS3 into town, picked mum up, dropped DS at his colleague's to work with him at home, then went shopping. Must've been a quick whizz round, as I was done & ready for home within 2 hours! Slept for an hour after putting the shopping away.
Weeded a border & transplanted LOADS of flowers this afternoon. After tea, I suggested we take s walk to the cemetery. Got soaked on both directions. Pleased to put my nightie & slippers on when we got home! Watched 2 episodes of a series & knitted a pair of gonk feet.
Grateful for my warm home, chats with DS2 about more jobs to help us out, DS3 having a good day (told him I'd go work with his colleague if I was being fed steak & chips at midday!)Use it up, wear it out

Did lots of little bits yesterday, no obvious progress but I feel better (lots of preventative/ palliative bits which made it easier to walk and breathe). Epic fail this morning. I've been adding in extra jobs with each pass because walking back and forth tires me more quickly. So took things to the kitchen, took out things for breakfast, went in the bathroom, brushed my teeth and picked up bags for cans and a fresh bin bag (used little waste bin but it was starting to overflow) on my way back. Got back to the couch, thought something felt 'off' - I'd not had my shower, remembered all the before and after bits but forgot to get in the shower. I had my pills and breakfast before going back.
There are a couple of jobs I really want to get done but not sure how much umph I have left. I may try to go and collect the bins that DS3 hasn't brought back - I have 3 bags and a pizza box to go in right away. I've done all the pans and dishes and talked DS3 through cooking using the new hotplate.
Grateful for books (re-reading old favourites), some creams helping various aches (trying to cut back on medicine items), feeling clean and well groomed except for the shaggy hair - it will get chopped back if I can't get to the hairdressers.5 -
@grandmanerd. Could you get a hairdresser to come to the house? I do & it’s so much easier. Great idea @beanielou.
NSD
Went into town mid-morning to walk with work besties. One was in a strange mood & snapped at me a couple of times. She also made a couple of 'jokes' about my eyes, which I didn't find funny. Sent her a message later & said she'd hurt my feelings. I'd been looking forward to meeting up with them both, but it made me wish I hadn't bothered.
Are my dinner when I got home (we'd gone into a cafe cos very heavy rain, but I only had tap water), then I did some tidying in my bedroom.
Sewed the gonk feet on after tea.
Grateful for standing up for myself, not having in in the cafe, DS2 keen to do more jobs to helpUse it up, wear it out

As usual I have lost track of NSDs but today was oneDid some batch cooking and went to the doctor's for a blood test - not an exciting day!We are preparing to go to DD1's house to care for her animals while she is on holiday. We will leave on Wednesday, and OH will bring me back on Saturday (I don't want my garden plants to die through lack of watering in this heat), .when DD2 and family will arrive OH will go back on Sunday to help DD2 as her husband has to return to work and she doesn't want to be on her own with the kids and animals. Very complicated - this arrangement was originally between DD1 and DD2, not sure how we got dragged into it
We don't tend to go away during the hottest part of the summer or the school holidays by choice, but always end up looking after DDs houses / pets so that they can. So a few days peace and quiet at home for me while they are all away!

Mrs Builder came so the kitchen and bathroom are back up to standard (I'd done quite a bit but the pots weren't away), the bins are back from the collection point and lots went in the recycling. She also cleaned the fridge - she did ask permission to throw out the way ood milk. I'd put a fresh load in the WM before she arrived. I thoroughly cleaned my mask and machine yesterday evening, the mask is broken so can't be put in water and soaked.
Mrs Builder and I cleared a swathe of the front room (mostly clear last time and rubbish etc mostly kept in correct bags - some bits had missed the bag or spilled out. One of the small cube shelves went into the kitchen and the couch was moved back so the final bit of 'under the couch' is sorted. I now have access to a trolley and more boxes to sort through.
Grateful for Mrs Builder, machine working properly, room to do the jobs that are needed.4 -
Thanks ladies. Hope your blood tests results come back quickly @DawnW, & you have a nice 'holiday' at your DD's. I always like returning home after a few days away, as I look at my house with fresh eyes & think about changing things round or different ways to do things.
Took DH in for his blood test (it's now 4 monthly, they're pleased with how the transplant is doing). We went to the garden centre to spend a voucher we'd been given. Bought a nice green pot to put the bedding plants in for DS1 at the cemetery, plus 3 other plants. Looked round the charity shops, but only spent 20p on a book.
DH pottered about in town, then caught the bus home. I went to mum's, had dinner together, then visited a friend. We spoke & spoke for hours, then realised it was 6.20! She'd made me a lovely hamper - totally unexpected! Picked DS3 up, then came home.
Planted the bedding plants in the pot, then went to the cemetery with DS2&3. Was lovely that they both came too. De-stalked currants for the freezer & picked more raspberries. Quite tired tonight.
Grateful for a lovely day, both DSs coming to the cemetery, DS2 willing to do more outside of his 'bubble'Use it up, wear it out

Can't shoot roommates - must achieve a mental balance here and work my way through the frustration. Two of them went shopping with a list from me. They didn't even look at it. Came home with lots of drinks, canned dinners, and candy for them. I had only two items on the list for me - milk and vinegar. At least I have the long-life milk in the pantry. But I need the vinegar for killing weeds and for the toilet having problems. Don't have any apples to make my own. I am trying to avoid driving right now as my legs are having problems (spondylosis) and aren't working properly. Have to drive tomorrow anyway and will probably stop by a store on the way home from the doctor's office tomorrow. But getting into the store is really hard even with my rollator.
I have four roommates. None of them are able to do anything at the moment. One turns on the TV - and goes right to sleep. Or she spends the day on her bed working on something I can't figure out. She does have ADHD and autism. One leaves his tv on all day - and sleeps through most of the day and then complains he can't get to sleep at night. He is the one who was drinking and has lost a lot of weight in the last few months. One plays games on his tv all day and doesn't come down except occasionally to cook ramen noodles. And one comes down at 4 so he can leave for work . He only works 20 hours a week but he is "too busy working" to properly clean the cat box more than twice a week. The rest of the time he is watching tv and playing games on the the TV. My legs aren't working but they think I can do everything that needs to be done here. Sometimes I feel just like you, grandmanerd. What you write fits the way I feel.3
