Another NSD
An energetic day today! Woke at 6.30 to get DS3 up for work, Norwegian & exercises done. After breakfast I sorted out some washing, then walked 5.5 miles with DH. The sun was shining, but quite windy all day. Did 100 skips when I got home, & put some things in the shed. Read my book whilst eating dinner.
Went outside & finished weeding under all the fruit bushes, then did down the side of our driveway. Discovered 7 ripe raspberries 😋 the first ones this year.
After tea, I met a friend & we walked 1-2 miles. Over 16000 steps done today! Will sleep well tonight.
Grateful for another sunny day, surprise raspberries, laughter with DHUse it up, wear it out

Some women don't get to live soft lives
They get handed chaos, grief, betrayal and
they have to learn how to bloom anyway
They become the ones who know how to
carry others when their world falls apart
because they remember what it was like
when no-one showed up for them. They're
not here because it was easy. They're here
because they didn't give up

Still recovering from a weekend with not much sleep due to the heat, I think, as I don't feel motivated to do much!Did the weekly shop though, and I have a slow cooker full of ratatouille on the go, to use up some of the courgette mountain. It freezes nicely and is a treat in the winter, a reminder of summer sun - even if we are having a bit too much of that currently. We had a bit of rain yesterday and it isn't too hot, so minimal watering needed today.Planted up a couple of tubs of salad leaves. It has been hard to get lettuce-y things germinated this year, as it refuses to do so if too hot. I managed to germinate these particular ones in the larder of all places.Dinner tonight will be stir fry - I am sure I can sneak another courgette into that6

Didn't exercise first thing, woke DS3 then went back to bed 🤣
Went for a walk with DH, had a rain shower, so pleased I'd taken my coat. Roasting hot, once the rain had passed.
Repaired DS3's trousers, ready for him presenting medals at the Island Games on Thursday. Finished weeding down the drive, then transplanted lots of flowers from one of the raised (veg) beds. Went to see a friend, sat outside in the sun & had s good catch up. Did the ironing after tea.
Grateful for the photos I'd sent off for, arriving, my garden, lovely friendsUse it up, wear it out

Enough for DH tomorrow.Planning meals from freezer and am pleased with grocery costs this month, also last.Three library book orders collected by DH including one on chakras so am looking forward to reading more about that. Know the basics.Grateful for time with DD and DH, food from left overs and plans from freezer , kind and helpful texts from 2 work buddies, also for sunshine after all the heavy rain6

Another hot day. Got exercises, Norwegian & 100 skips done before breakfast. Read my book whilst eating.
Headed outside & hung around the top of the drive, saw the women cyclists heading to the village for their race. Weeded in front of the garage & adjacent border, then trimmed the bushes down the drive & removed all the long grass from around the pile of boulders.
Heated up the extra lunch I'd made from yesterday & read some more. Started weeding another border. Saw the male cyclists pass for their competition. Think our islands are 5th in the medal table now. Finished reading the last 100 pages of my book with an ice cream 😋
Grateful for DH discovering 2 ripe cherries (the first ones ever) on our 2 cherry trees - yum! Hearing what sounded like a large frog ribbeting near our ponds, good books & helpful chats with nextdoor neighbour, oh & chatting to my uncle on the phoneUse it up, wear it out

One box of toys and books, emptied, added to, all items listed and repacked. Emptied the top drawer of the craft drawers (when I was moving things to prepare for the builders, lots of slips of paper were squeezed inside). All the wrapping paper, wallpaper (for covering boxes) and some posters went in there and put small craft items in the corners. Today I have been weeding outside and took many sacks to the bins. The old garden chair is now too low for gardening, getting up was difficult and then had pain in my legs and bum. Cleared about 6' of the wall (pretty weed grows along it but then starts to take over and then hobbled back into the house.
Meals have been slightly strange but good.
Grateful for resting, reading and a better night's sleep.9 -
Sounds like you've achieved a lot @grandmanerd 😀
I'm still spending lots of time in the garden, weeding & planting. Took the afternoon off yesterday, to go to town & watch DS3 present the bronze medals to a team in the Island Games. Proud mum moment 😍 Visited a friend from work after tea.
Today I went the long way into town (some roads closed for competitions). Set off with a friend, walked from her house, past a beach, to another beach (where we ate out picnic & collected shells/seaglass), then back to her house. 8.5 miles! I treated us to I've creams on the way back.
Someone I was at college with in 1993&4 had a daughter presenting medals too, & had taken a video, so I asked her if she'd send it me, as my view was blocked by a visiting team.
DS2 asked if I had any jobs he could do, to earn some money. He's picked the rest of the currants & is currently removing long grass/turf from the base of the boards of the raised beds. Said he didn't have to do it all tonight, but he's keen to do it! Fantastic that he's stepping up 😀
Grateful for putting on suncream so I didn't burn, DS3 presenting medals, DS2 stepping upUse it up, wear it out

Today I am grateful for dh chauffering me and Pip to and from the train station and saving us from a soaking at this end, for Pip enjoying the climbing event and for me getting to see just how well he's doing, for seats on all our trains, for a friend getting in touch.
