Glad to hear about your increased flexibility grandmanerd, and about your successful eye op + upcoming trip to Aberdeen thrifty.I have a neighbour who yells at her kids (11+17). Always has done. Whether it's about them using her stuff, or just that too many packs of crisps have been eaten. She is stupid loud, goes on and on and on, and uses such obnoxious language. We can't go anywhere in the house to get away from hearing her, so I've started playing classical music loudly through a portable speaker, pointed out of the back door towards her side. It doesn't drown her out completely, but I feel a little better.I've been keeping going with my workouts and am getting stronger - yay!All my marking and invigilating is done for this academic year, so I'm going to enjoy the hols!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!6

I’m pleased that things are working out with collecting your son’s things again thrifty. The green container pot for plants sounds lovely too.Wee Nancy I have read about you for years now and always hope things ease and that your room mates would be more helpful.Sending my best wishes to all of you turtles. You have motivated and helped me hugely over the years, without knowing it
July has been better financially. NSD are still a work in progress but I think carefully about purchases and often put things back on the shelf etc.
As well as money being reined in I’m getting better again about my own emotional energy and not wasting it so much. That helps such a lot! So, more meditation, quiet time, good reading, healthy food. Do need to increase water again but that’s fine. So, thank you all!8 -
I'm back! Did you miss me?The week of work accidently turned into 2. I am not turning down work that comes toward me with its arms open. Had a great time, loved it, but am knackered and my house is disgusting, so cleaning it today and tomorrow will have to go and get the shopping in - no bread, no milk, no cheese, no deodorant - I am just grateful we still have loo roll!4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Was about to go for a walk, but I heard the rain on the window. Got my jigsaw out, haven't worked on it for at least 5 months, & listen to cd #3. It's a bit wizard & witchy, but had a smirk as DS2 (20) came downstairs & there was a slightly raunchy bit. He mustve been wondering what I was listening to! 😂
Booked our boat trip, unfortunately no cabins available, but we've been put on a waiting list 🤞🤞🤞
Sorted things in our bedroom this afternoon, threw some papers for recycling & a few bits for the CS.
Watched a film with DH after tea & the last episode of a series.
Grateful for doing my jigsaw, time with DH, DS2 adding something else to his limited food choicesUse it up, wear it out

I am back from a few days away animal sitting for my DD1. OH has gone back to help DD2 with it, as it is quite a lot of work. Having said that, smallest GCs are ace at horse poo pickingSo, just me for a few days, as OH has also taken the dog. He loves it there, running about in the woods. Very different from our little town garden, so a holiday for him at least! More animal sitting next week, but local this time, for DD2, and no horses, just chickens, ducks, ferrets, rats, rabbits, gerbils etc
I will be glad when they all get back from their hols!
My garden had survived the few days away, but many plants desperately needed watering, especially the ones in pots. It is so dry here. We haven't had any proper rain for ages, everything is tinder dry.Did some shopping this morning, mainly things for OH to take with him. I shall make do with what we have in. I have filled the SC up with onions, peppers, courgettes, aubergines and tomatoes, chucked some garlic and a chilli and some seasoning in, to make a big pot of ratatouille. I shall have some tonight for dinner with a little feta crumbled over. OH would want meat or fish and potatoes with it, but I don't need either of those things. Somehow I have managed to lose just over a stone over the last few months, and would like to lose another. Hopefully I can kick start that over the next few days while I am on my own.Work tomorrow, so I had better get today's watering and feeding (of plants) done, and wash my hair.6 -
You have been busy @DawnW. Good that you're able to help out your DDs.

A breezy but mostly dry day. Went for a walk with DH this morning.
After dinner DS2&3 went outside to do some jobs for us. Was good they were doing things together, they worked solidly for 2 hours! Lots more raspberries picked too.
I repaired DS3's work trousers, listed a couple of things on FB, did the dishes & hung the washing out.
The PC in Aberdeen sent me scanned copies of DS1's letters to everyone. They made me cry, but he's written such lovely things. It gives me comfort to now know why he did it & pleased that no-one was being horrible to him. My lovely boy 💔
Watched TV & knitted after tea.
Grateful to finally have the letters & the answer why, DS2 telling me he loves me (hasn't said it without prompting for years), & for both boys working together outside to helpUse it up, wear it out
