Rosie, I do think Qrizb and Scot_39 make a persuasive point that you shouldn't worry too much about running a few minutes into peak rate while running storage heaters on Snug because Snug would still be far cheaper than E10 anyway. The other plus with Snug over E10 is that with Snug your storage heaters would be running for more continuous hours during the early hours. Which would hopefully mean, come afternoon your home would be warmer and so that 1 hour afternoon "off peak" would be enough anyway.Remember if you ever do decide switching to Octopus make sure you get that £50 referral. Like you I knew nobody on Octopus, so I recall I used the referral on that EnergyStats site that was mentioned on here the other day.2

Just had this months email with my bill
surprise surprise, I am not on economy 10 even though I have a email saying that I am
I am on standard variable according to my bill
I hear the meter change over at E10 timings , I’m going to have to physically check it again today and tonight

I hear the meter change over at E10 timings , I’m going to have to physically check it again today and tonightIn your case IF its a universal end of E10 - I could see them pushing you onto E7 - and losing the afternoon boost with it - but to go for single rate with economy 10 timings seems a poor choice. But E7 with excessive peak rate use is also quite expensive.Normally these letters do have an "unless you contact us" as well - and I see they have offered you other deals - that might have been E7 base for fixes and not SR.The fact that you did so and appear to have been told to ignore the letter and that you are still on E10 - well this whole thing again stinks of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing at EDF.Your letter iirc said you were on single rate SVT from 1st July - unless you swapped to a new supplier iirc. The fact that your still on E10 timings makes it easier for them to honour the supplier switch billing data - until the 29th iirc. But I'd keep my eye on the timings just in case they do change in future. Just remember tariff rates and timings, are not the same as ALCS timings as per your Apr 1st problem. But they often are set as a matched pair. But its clear you letter maintains the concept of peak and off peak registers / rates and so your meter as profile class 2.If you were told you were staying on E10 - not just timings but rates / kWh too - and have that in that E-mail - and that the letter was sent by mistake - then clearly yet another complaint time. But perhaps just more evidence of left hand not knowing what right hand is doing in an org the size of EDF.But if the letter is the EDF policy decision for all E10 and not just really old legacy metering - then I don't know it it will change anything. And so another supplier and as above maybe Snug the most obvious change to keep ALCS and get 1 hr afternoon boost.Short of fitting other timer controls yourself - independent of meter - at your cost. But youd have to look at the tariffs, the off peak or rather low rate timings and the rates vs snug / e7 etc. Before Snug launched, I had wondered whether Octopus would set ALCS timings to match Cosy - and allow it for NSH if I lose E10 at next meter upgrade.0 -
I rang and they told me that I was staying on E10 and I had a email confirmation saying this
the bill from July 1st is billed at variable rate
the meter is giving me E10 timings and it looks like my off peak etc is registering on the correct rates
I will check again at 2.09 today when my off peak is due on
I have another complaint in already , I rang this morning and was told I have a dedicated person dealing with this
but , that person has no answered any calls or emails , so I’m no further forward
