Congratulations MG. What a bouncer he was at 9lbs. My DS2 was 8lb 11oz and he didn't even look like a newborn
Lovely to get an update from you and I hope you can drop by and let us know how you and the littlies are all doing again soon:)
Btw the sling sounds great. A real bargain and a lot of pride in making it yourself, I'm sure0 -

Congratulations Memorygirl and Welcome to Memorybaby! Pity the NHS can't reimburse you for what you've saved them
!!!
And well done on making the sling - that's brilliant. I well remember the weight of my 8lb 4oz one when I had to carry him around - so you must really feel the benefit.
Good to hear from you again and get the update on what you're up to once more.

Hi Guys
NOTE: wrote this last night but couldn't upload it somehow!! Could have had something to do with the glass of wine I had last night (first since I found out I was pregnant last year) Don't think too harshly though - it was a special occasion - My BIRTHDAY  . Not the big one - that's next year, but big enough to make me feel really old anyways :rotfl:
Had a bits n bobs day at work. Thank goodness the baby (Rowan Lewis for those that were asking) is so good at being carted around after me all day. At least with Bfeeding I can just stop and tend to his needs whenever he needs me.
The evening was spent at my DS school - full parents meeting where a million and one things were discussed and very little decided. I guess managing by committee really doesn't work - LOL
So got home - little sprites fast asleep - took a glass of wine and a pad and pen and made myself comfy on my bed. Wrote a rambling four pages of all the things I want to be, do, have by my big 4-0 birthday next year. I then sealed it in an envelope and buried it in my underwear drawer. The idea is that next year I can open it up and "hopefully" read of all the things I have achieved in the next 365 days.
NOTE: Someone scribble that in your diary to remind me to do that -
Some pretty big goals in there - like
Being in a property with a mortgage of no more than 70K outstanding. Because that is what I can comfortably sustain long term.
Being at my target weight of 10st 7lbs - Currently down from 14st to 12st 10lb after the birth of baby.
To be debt free
To have two years salary sitting in my offset account (only 12k so not a huge fortune)
To have overpaid my mortgage EVERY month - even if only by £10.
To have furnished and decorated my new house on less than £1000.
To have negotiated a part-time job so that I can spend more time working at my sons school.
To write another book.
And tell me if this one is a really daft dream - you know when you do really well at a popular Slimming Club and they use your story and doll you up to look gorgeous in the magazine?? Weeeeeellllllllllll:rolleyes: I would like to be at target weight and dressed up like all the West End Diva roles - you know - the ladies from Cabaret, Evita etc - Maybe even in a glamorous evening dress as a piano-bar chanteuse.
Wow that makes me sound really shallow. Ah Well!!! I spend all my days in my "uniform" of jeans and bfeeding friendly tops so a girl can dream a little of sparkly stuff and high heels can't she??? If nothing else it should help me stick to the SW plan every week.
For my birthday yesterday my girlfriend presented me with a beautifully wrapped ( in shiny paper with ribbons and balloons and everything) ..... wait for it.............. tin of cream paint!!!!!!!!!!!! She is always laughing with me about how I can make something out of nothing so she is going to present me with a suprise every month and challenge me to make as many usefull things out of it as possible.
No !!! I don't know what she has got planned. But she has obviously put a lot of thought into what she is going to give me - so I'm game :T . Her only rule is that besides the "thing" she gives me everything else has to be sourced for "free" - like from what I have hanging around, can source for nothing, can receive donated from friends or find. I love Make Do and Mend Challenges.:j
Oooohhhhh!!! I hope one of these things is a crate of wine - LOL.
So I am off to find out how far I can eke out a tin of paint ove the next 3 weeks till the end of June. I think there will be a lot of painting of a lot of tatty furniture in the offing. Hope the weather holds.
See ya

OK I think I may have this sorted out - or at least I can now do a link to my pictures if that will be a help?
Actually taking these photos on a digital camera that I got in an unopened pack from a charity shop - total cost £1.75. Don't think its too bad - in fact I think its a bargain - LOL
First project for the "June - pot of paint challenge" is
Pine Dining set for my "new" kitchen (with thanks to the "shabby chic" thread for their inspiration.
